96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is full of fruit and weighty tannins. Coming from one of the finest vineyards in Burgundy, it is going to have great power and an opulent nature. This wine also has elegance, its black fruits controlled and with a mineral edge. That doesn't take away the power, it enhances the stylishness of this grand wine. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (09/2014) 95 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Rossignol-Trapet Chambertin is also a very, very fine bottle in the making. The deep, pure and youthful nose wafts from the glass in a mix of red a...

2011 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Caillerets"
Back In Stock!
92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An intensely spicy and strikingly fresh red and blue pinot fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of plum, earth and wet stone nuances. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the medium-bodied flavors that are brimming with a cool minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, linear and hugely persistent finish. This too is just terrific but be prepared to be patient. *Outstanding, Sweet Spot*" (04/2013) 92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium bright red. Aromas of black che...

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A highly perfumed, pure and very pretty nose of plum, rose petal and red currant aromas introduces intensely mineral-driven, vibrant and beautifully well-delineated flavors that terminate in a markedly saline, clean and crisp finish. I very much like the depth and persistence and this should make for a really lovely effort with the proper cellar time of 10 to 12 years. " (04/2013) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2011 les Aigrots is an excellent wine, jumping from the glass in a classy blend of cherries, a touch of b...

96 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Trapet Chambertin is absolutely magical and one of the best 2011s... The classic and youthful nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, black minerality, plummy overtones, raw cocoa, mustard seed, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and youthfully structured, with the purity of the vintage very much in evidence, a great core, ripe, firm tannins and superb focus and grip on the very, very long and soil-driven finish. This is the most aromatically expressive of the three g...

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatieres" ((90-93BH), 93VN, 92ST). Vinous: "The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres is pure seduction in the glass. Open and beautifully expressive, the 2011 covers every inch of the palate with subtle layers of intensely perfumed fruit. Mint, white flowers and apricots are some of the many nuances that come to life on the impeccably poised, brilliant finish. (AG)" (09/2013)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2011 Albert Grivault Meursault (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Meursault Village won the Medaille de Bronze at the Concours Generale Agricole, while perversely the Medaille d-Or was won by the Bourgogne Blanc! However, I much prefer the village cru, which shows more vivacity and terroir expression on the nose. The palate is crisp and dainty, the acidity nicely judged and bestowed with a citric core of fruit that bursts open toward the finish with touches of orange zest and spice. This is one of my favorite wines from the domaine in this year. (NM)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $304.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos de la Mouchère" (94BH, 94VN, 93ST). Vinous: "The Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère remains energetic, vibrant and utterly impeccable. Lemon oil, hazelnut and spice notes emerge in a Burgundy full of 2011 softness and generosity. This is a great showing from a wine that is likely to enjoy a long and broad drinking window. (AG)" (09/2013)
Starting Bid: $509.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Albert Grivault Meursault "Clos des Perrieres" (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Perrieres has a lively bouquet that draws you in: hazelnut and smoke at first, with touches of fragrant orange blossom. The palate is clean and fresh with a powerful smoked walnut opening that really gives this 2011 identity and charisma. Very long in the mouth, this is a very fine Meursault that should age a number of years. (NM)" (12/2013)
