2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets"
92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby! Knockout high-pitched nose offers blackberry, dark raspberry, spices, licorice, bitter chocolate and violet, plus a note of crushed stone. Silky and highly concentrated, with superb depth of fruit and thrust; brilliant acidity contributes to the wine's vibrant inner-mouth perfume. Finishes with huge, palate-saturating but smooth tannins and a powerful impression of medicinal reserve. 'We had thick skins in 2009 and a great skin to juice ratio,' said Boillot, noting that this wine had th...

2009 Domaine du Pavillon (Albert Bichot) Corton Grand Cru "Clos de Maréchaudes"
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Very ripe, indeed even slightly roasted aromas of plum and prune introduce big-bodied and exceptionally rich flavors that seem fresher and more energetic in the mouth. This is quite a serious effort with fine concentration and my score offers the benefit of the doubt on the nose because it's too ripe for me to appreciate. *Sweet Spot*" (05/2011) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Marechaudes is slightly lighter in color than the 2010. There are redder fruits on the nose com...

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a hint of menthol to the less elegant but more complex nose that displays a dazzling array of spice, floral, earth, underbrush and red currant aromas. There is outstanding richness to the powerful and velvet-textured big-bodied flavors brimming with ample amounts of dry extract that relegate the firm tannic spine to the background on the mouth coating and hugely long finish. This is a burly and quite serious effort that is not especially rustic though one that will require plenty of cellar time to r...

2009 Bouchard Père et Fils Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots"
89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe, spicy and intensely menthol-suffused nose gives way to rich, mouth coating and opulently sappy flavors are shaped by notably firm tannins that are robust and, somewhat unusually, actually rustic, all wrapped in a solidly lingering finish. " (05/2011) 89-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good red-ruby. Aromas of black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice, menthol and minerals. Sweeter and more flavorful than the Beaux Monts on entry, with less of that wine's vegetal qualities, then cut of...

2009 Domaine Louis Latour Corton Grancey Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
94 points James Suckling: "A tangy red with sliced apple, citrus, plum, chocolate, and fresh herb. Full to medium body, beautiful core of fruit and a bright finish. Chewy and polished. Tight now. Give this time. Drink or hold. " (06/2015) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "An intense and concentrated wine, with dense black fruits balanced by acidity. There is ripeness here, with a firm, ageworthy structure as well as delicious juicy Pinot Noir character. (RV)" (09/2011) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A little stern on the nose, but boasting ripe, juicy raspberr...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Hudelot Noellat Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" ((91-93BH), 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* This too is very Vosne in basic character with mild wood influence as well on the wonderfully spicy, cooler and more elegant blue and black berry fruit aromas cut with plenty of mineral influence that carries over to the rich, intense and vibrant middle weight flavors that are given shape and firmness by the fine tannins, all wrapped in a long finish that displays an abundance of underlying tension." (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $445.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Faiveley Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Vignerondes" ((90-93BH), (89-92VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the fruit runs towards the blue side of the spectrum with aromas of blue berry, plum and violets that is in keeping with the extremely rich and mouth coating medium weight flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel even though the tannins that surface on the balanced, long and serious finish are rather firm." (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Château de la Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (94BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Visible but reasonably well-integrated wood sets off somber, very ripe and distinctly earthy dark berry fruit liqueur aromas. There is impressive richness to the powerful broad-shouldered flavors that brim with dry extract that does an excellent job of buffering the very firm tannins on the beautifully balanced, long and quite serious finish. This is an excellent example whose only fault lies in being completely overshadowed by its '09 VV counterpart." (01/2012)
Starting Bid: $230.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Dujac Fils et Père Chambolle-Musigny ((88-90BH), (89-90JG), 90RP, 90VN). Vinous: "The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny floats across the palate with red berries, wild flowers and spices. I can't see any reason to delay gratification. The Chambolle is a great example of the delicious wines that are found at the village level in 2009. A textured, highly expressive finish rounds out this sensual beauty. (AG)" (04/2012)
Starting Bid: $125.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (93BH, (91-93RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts sweeps across the palate with layers of deep, powerful fruit and a sensual personality. Sweet spices, licorice and goudron add complexity as this superb, explosive wine builds towards the finish. This is a fabulous effort from Jadot. (AG)" (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Bouchard Père & Fils Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Porrets Saint-Georges" ((90-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is quite ripe but stops just short of being surmature with its spicy, earth and liqueur-like aromas of black cherry and a hint of menthol. The rich, seductive and suave medium-bodied flavors finish with mild austerity on the surprisingly cool and well-balanced finish." (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $135.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin "Vieilles Vignes" (92RP, (88-91BH), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin floats on the palate in its finessed, well-articulated fruit. Subtle and ethereal through to the finish, the wine captures the essence and nobility of Gevrey. With time in the glass the fruit turns darker and the wine puts on weight, showing tons of pedigree and dazzling overall harmony. (AG)" (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $370.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "En Caillerets" (94RP, 93WE, 92BH, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay En Caillerets bursts from the glass with a huge, explosive bouquet. Blackberries, blueberries, hard candy and spices are just a few of the notes that emerge from this layered, intense Burgundy. There is plenty of inner tension here, in fact the Caillerets appears to be holding back a lot of its potential. It is a dazzling wine though, and one built for the long haul. (AG)" (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Faiveley Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots" (94WS, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "A harmonious, sophisticated version, combining saturated black cherry, licorice, black currant and spice flavors with dense, yet ripe, tannins. Long, and all the elements are well-proportioned. dfThe aftertaste of black fruit, spice and mineral goes on and on. (BS)" (06/2012)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Michel Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Chaffots" ((90-92BH), 90RP, 90ST, 90VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained and quite cool nose of spice and earth hints that add good breadth to the red pinot fruit that introduces rich and generous but well-focused middle weight plus flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration which helps to buffer the very firm finish. This is a relatively big wine and clearly built to age. *Outstanding*" (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Chicotot Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains". A 7th-generation winegrower in Nuits-St-Georges, Georges Chicotot and his wife Pascale run their small domaine with care and concentrated attention. Recently, Pascale has taken over the decision on bottling, and the wines are bottled a bit sooner, with attractive and spicy Nuits fruit character. This is all estate grown and hand-harvested on their vineyards in Nuits-St-Georges. The "Vaucrains" 1er cru is among the appellation's most prized sites, often yielding wines of considerable depth and extended aging potential.
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Frédéric Esmonin Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru (93BH, 93ST, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot* From a .52 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines. A completely different nose of truffle, discreet earth plus red and dark berry fruit aromas that precedes the supple and seductive mineral-infused flavors that are linear and strikingly persistent. This is not quite as complex as the Mazis though there appears to be the underlying material present to allow this to develop with sufficient cellar time." (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $789.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Arlaud Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru ((91-94BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A black cherry and raspberry liqueur nose also delivers notes of stone, plum and earth, all of which can almost be found on the intensely mineral-driven, supple and round medium weight plus flavors that possess outstanding intensity on the balanced, focused and linear finish. This is not a big wine, at least not in the context of what is often typical for the appellation but like the Charmes, its primary attribute is the power without weight character." (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Taillepieds" ((92-94BH), (91-93RP), (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot. Outstanding* A restrained yet perfumed nose is the essence of wet stone and ripe Pinot, all trimmed in dried floral notes. Like the Mitans, this is also positively crystalline as the flavors seem to be composed from liquid rock and deliver positively huge length along with the hallmark finishing austerity of a young Taillepieds. A highly impressive effort of impeccable balance." (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $155.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Georges Noellat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts". Neal Martin offered the following update on this domaine: "'Noellat' might be a name synonymous with Vosne-Romanee for decades. However 22-year-old Maxime Cheurlin, Georges Noellat’s nephew, is a name to look for in the future. He grew up in Champagne rather than the Cote d’Or since his parents run a successful champagne house, but it seems that Maxime heard the calling and seems intent on reinstalling the family name in Burgundy. With some enviable parcels of vine scattered around the locale, Maxime works out of the family’s small cellars just behind his parents’ house whose conservatory offers a fantastic panorama across their holding of Les Chaumees."
