Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne
Top Pick!
94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The NV Champagne Brut Rose is an attractive pale salmon hue, with a fresh perfume of wild strawberry, ripe peach, white and red flowers, a hint of tropical fruit, and grapefruit. The palate is rounded, with fruit up front and through the mid-palate, and it has a silky and fresh lift. There is a wonderful ease and drinkability to this wine, which delivers balance and finesse. (AF)" (11/2022) 93 points James Suckling: "Pale salmon color, showing notes of sliced strawberries, apples, grapefruit and crushed biscuits. Sleek, dry and ...

92-95 points Burghound: "Note: 20% whole clusters. Moderate wood and menthol nuances serve as a less than neutral backdrop for the gamy, spicy and very ripe aromas of dark pinot fruit liqueur-like aromas. There is fine volume and outstanding intensity to the big-bodied and powerful flavors that possess flat out superb concentration thanks to the abundance of palate drenching sap that also serves to buffer the firm core of ripe tannins on the hugely long and wonderfully complex finish. While the underlying raw material is certainly present such that this ...

Domaine Pacory 16 Year Old "K&L Exclusive" Domfrontais Calvados (750ml)
Top Pick!
This will be one of the most crowd pleasing spirits we've ever brought in from France: this 16 year single barrel exclusive of 70% pear and 30% apple distilled Calvados from the small producer Domaine Pacory. In the Domfrontais region of Normandy, the brandies are generally at least 60% pear. Located on the ferme des Grimaux, the Pacory property has been in the family since 1939, but it wasn't until 1959 that Claude Pacory decided to try to perfect the art of Calvados distillation. The torch was passed to Frédéric in 1986 and he's been carrying the tradi...

93 points Wine Advocate: "With a brut dosage, the 2016 Pur Oger Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs offers up inviting aromas of butter, lemon oil, menthol, crisp orchard fruits and spring flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping palate that’s generous and vinous, finishing with a mineral, penetrating finish. It’s denser and fleshier than its counterpart, the 2016 Pur Avize. 93+ (YC)" (11/2023) K&L Notes: The "Pur Oger" from champange Franck Boniville is all from the grand cru of the same name, and made from two of the best sites in th...

2011 Michel Arnould "Cuvée B 50" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, we think you will very much enjoy Michel Arnould. They are bold, masculine Champagnes with plenty of toasty flavor. This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, entirely from estate vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzenay. Verzenay is the northernmost of all the Grand Crus in this northernmost of French wine regions. The whole village faces north—the wrong way, away from the sun—and yet miraculously ripens Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Some say it's because of a meteor that,...

Suntory "Hibiki Japanese Harmony" Blended Japanese Whisky (750ml)
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "The newest blended whisky offering from Hibiki is burnished gold in the glass and has a bold aroma that mixes vanilla, fresh pear and a hint of smoke. The smokiness comes forward at the first sip, wrapping around a core of oak and vanilla custard and finishing long, with a mouthwatering bitter chocolate note. *Wine Enthusiast Best of 2016* (KN)" (03/2016) 90 points Whisky Advocate: "Poised and complex, with typically lifted fruitiness: strawberry ice cream, pineapple, peach, balanced by delicate oak, bamboo shoot-like delica...

2019 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Revelation" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
This Champagne comes from a very special plot in Monthelon, just behind the Le Brun house on a southeast facing slope. It is entirely Meunier, half of which was planted in 1952 and the other half in 1902; the oldest living vines that I have seen in Champagne. The village of Monthelon is in the Côteaux de Sud Épernay, one of the coldest microclimates in Champagne, and that cold climate, in tandem with these ancient vines, has given us a truly epic wine. Alex’s craft has added to this — he uses a combination of small oak and large foudres for this wine alo...

Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Number 1" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
This wine is selected from Alex's best parcels and made in very small quantities. It is composed of 55% Chardonnay from the grand cru of Chouilly, 35% Pinot Noir from Sezanne and 15% old vine Meunier from Monthelon. It is entirely barrel fermented, and always aged more than 10 years on the lees. If you like a savory, rich, concentrated champagne with a ton of complexity, this tiny production bottle is for you. I love it with foie gras and rich appetizers! -Gary Westby, K&L
Price: $99.99

Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the powerful 2015 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced for the red wine in this blend was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry, with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the lingering finish.

93 points Wine Advocate: "With a brut dosage (less than 12 grams per liter), the 2016 Pur Avize Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs displays a smoky, refined bouquet with aromas of almonds, lemon oil, vanilla, pear and stone fruits mingled with hints of spring flowers. Comparable in style to the Unisson Grand Cru, it’s medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with a delicate, pinpoint mousse and a long, penetrating finish. As its name indicates, it’s sourced from vines planted in the village of Avize. (YC)" (11/2023) K&L Notes: The "Pur Avize" from Champagne Fra...
Price: $89.99

This single vineyard, vintage champagne is from the Les Fervins plot in the grand cru of Verzy, on the north-facing slope of the Mountain of Reims. It is a blend of half and half Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and is one of the most profound bottles of grower Champagne that we carry. It reminded me of Musigny with its iron fist in a velvet glove power and finesse. Nutty, complex, refined and nearly endless on the back end, this is a top example of this Grand Cru! 2021 Wayfarer "Estate - Wayfarer Vineyard" Fort Ross-Seaview Chardonnay
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "This is so intense and wild with Meyer lemon, Korean pear, green lemon, and lime. Piercing pineapple and focused acidity that gives incredible length and intensity. The density and texture with solid phenolics and so much flavor and vivid energy is really impressive along with the electric finish. Full body. Agile palate. Wente and Mount Eden clone. Drinkable but hold on to it!" (12/2023) 98 points Wine Advocate: "The 2021 Chardonnay The Estate is delightfully decadent and almost feels like a guilty pleasure—it's so packed wi...

1989 Domaine Séailles 34 Year Old Tenareze Armagnac (700ml)
Top Pick!
Styles vary tremendously across Armagnac and Domaine Séailles' flavor profile falls firmly in the middle between the two extremes of woody or fruity. The small 2.5 acre plot of Ugni Blanc on clay limestone soils makes for a brandy that has generous fruit, but a mineral backbone that stands up to long aging in French oak. As the brandy crests the 30 year mark it begins to develop distinct secondary sweetness notes as the fruit/wood interplay develops. Lots of maple/molasses/honey tones mark the '89 without sacrificing fruit. The stone fruit flavors jump o...

Arkansas 21 Year Old Apple Brandy (750ml) (Previously $130) (Previously $130)
Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This limited-edition apple brandy offers big, rounded stone fruit and fresh apple integrated with palate-coating vanilla, almond and honey, finishing long with zingy ginger, cinnamon and clove. Overall, a good balance of fruit and oak, suited for sipping or mixing. Aged in French ex-Chardonnay barrels, the producer bills this as the 'longest-aged domestic apple brandy available anywhere.'" (10/2017) K&L Notes: A stunning find, this confusingly named brandy is actually a 21-year-old apple brandy distilled from 100% California...

96 points James Suckling: "Such alluring, fragrant complexity is the first thing here, with plenty of fresh fruit in the red and dark-berry zone, as well as lots of floral and spice notes. The palate has a supple, smooth-honed and velvety feel with a level of fluidity that belies its power, such is the balance here. A fitting tribute to the winery’s founder, the late Trevor Mast. Drink over the next decade. Screw cap. " (01/2022) 95 points Wine Advocate: "This is no shrinking violet, in any way, shape or form. The 2019 Mast Shiraz is inky and intense, ...

(AJ) " (09/2016) Wine Spectator: "Shows a meaty, peppery side of Cabernet, rich and extracted, offering dried dark berry and fresh-turned earth. A solid effort with chewy, leathery tannins. 93 points Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Chardonnay Cerise Vineyard takes some time to open aromatically, eventually giving up shy white peach fruit and touches of roasted almonds, beeswax and flint. The medium-bodied palate is silky in texture and focused on youthful, citrusy fruits at this stage, finishing with touches of matchstick. (EB)" (07/2022)

2019 Robert Craig "Estate" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Bright and incisive, with tons of energy, the Howell Mountain Cabernet delivers the goods, big time. A rush of inky red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, menthol, spice and crushed rocks build into a crescendo of aromas and flavors that dazzles. (06/2011) 91 points Wine Spectator: "This has a pure loganberry and damson plum core, with lilac, warm pebble and lightly singed anise notes flittering through the background. 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "This firm wine shows the tannic side of the vintage. Those tannins are dusty, enriched with black-currant fruits and a dense backdrop. The wine is concentrated and elegant, very ageworthy and not likely to be ready before 2025. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2017) 96 points James Suckling: "Plenty of violets and dark berries on offer here. 96 points Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Gran Reserva 904 is a superb blend of Tempranillo from the villages of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba with 10% Graciano from Briones and Rodezno. The grapes were destemmed and crushed and fermented in stainless steel for 18 days at 25 C. Malolactic fermentation was spontaneous and lasted 38 days. These wines are marked by a long aging in used American oak barrels following the most strict Riojan tradition; four years during which time the wine was manually racked eight times. This is usually my favorite wine from La Rio...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This shows flavors of jammy raspberry and cherry. The acidity is fantastic and so are the tannins, and the mouthfeel is silky and racy." (03/2013) 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "If not the deepest nor the most generously fruited of the winery's many noteworthy wines, this very vital middleweight is charged by plenty of pert, young, winsome varietal fruit and is a solid success in spite of its slight lack of heft. It is made in a style that begs drinking with the likes of salmon, duck or classic coq au vin, and it shows the f...

2023 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)

Chewy tannins at the end. Cabernet sauvignon driven. Showing excellent potential." (04/2024) 94-97 points Vinous: "he 2023 Lynch-Bages is a dark, brooding wine. 2020 Leeuwin "Art Series" Chardonnay Margaret River Western Australia
Top Pick!
98 points Wine Advocate: "The 2020 vintage in Margaret River was moderate to warm and will be forever remembered for the incredibly compacted harvest period, which started two weeks earlier than the 2019 harvest before it and was all wrapped up by Easter—that's largely unheard of. The 2020 Art Series Chardonnay leads with power and density, not unlike the 2018 before it. 1998 Domaine de Baraillon 25 Year Old "Folle Blanche" K&L Exclusive Bas-Armagnac (750ml)
Top Pick!
We've expanded our selection from one of our favorite Armagnac producers: Domaine de Baraillon. After the success of last year's 1985 vintage brandy, we wanted to introduce you to their younger Folle Blanche selections. This 25 year old Armagnac is distilled from 100% Folle Blanche and exhibits that same unctuous, rich, caramel-laden profile but with more spice and a dusty finish. It's a big time crowd-pleaser of an Armagnac, the kind of thing that will taste good to your great uncle Larry, but still scratch that spirits geek itch in the back of your thr...

Tasting like a Grand Cru Chablis with its incredibly pure lemon curd, flinty minerality, brioche and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, laser focused, crisp and crystalline on the palate. It's a stunning Chardonnay that will compete with the creme de la creme of Chardonnays. First year for technical director François Brehant. 70% new oak." 2014 Aubert Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
Robert Parker writes: "Mark Aubert had an impressive resumé long before he became this famous, mentored by Helen Turley when he was at Peter Michael, and from there spending impressive tenures at Colgin and Tom Futo’s winery before he went off bound for glory... All of Aubert’s wines tend to push about 15% natural alcohol as he is not shy about ripeness, but they also have great acids. They are aged in 100% new oak that is virtually untraceable, given the quality of the fruit and his magical élevage, which produces wines that are pure and precise... His...

La Jota Vineyard Co. was founded in 1898 by Frederick Hess, an immigrant from Switzerland, who established a German-language newspaper in San Francisco. No doubt influenced by other European immigrants involved in California's wine industry, Hess purchased 327 acres on Howell Mountain to plant vineyards. Prohibition did not spare La Jota, and it became one of many "ghost wineries" until Bill Smith purchased it in 1974. 1985 represents just the third vintage at the revived winery with young vines planted by the new owners.
