94 points Decanter: "The palate has massive intensity of fruit flavour – watermelon, wild strawberry tip, a bit of dried thyme, salty toasted sourdough, macerated just-ripe strawberries, cranberries, wild oats and Moroccan spice box, with lacy acidity pulling through the fruit intensity. Savoury characters and fruit notes walk the line well. Finely layered texture, plenty of fruit phenolics, and some grippier and slightly grainier oak tannins. Château Musar is Lebanon's most famous producer. The winery does not make rosé every vintage, because the winemaker (the late Serge Hochar) sought very specific characteristics from the grapes he uses to create a fine, delicate and elegant rosé. The wine is composed of the indigenous Lebanese grapes Obaideh (55-65%) and Merwah (30-40%), thought to be ancestors of Chardonnay and Semillon, and a small amout of Cinsault.

Organic viticulture has been a goal of the family for a number of years; as of 2003, the entire estate is certified organic. The following year the winery was converted completely to biodynamic agriculture-to...
