Emerson crafts some of the most highly sought-after cult Cabs in the valley from St. Helena fruit at Vineyard 29, including wines rated at 100-points by Robert Parker himself. Our first K&L Exclusive singel barrel of New Riff Rye is also one of their most unique. A small fraction of their barrels (Jay Erisman estimates about 1 in 10) showcases a gentle smoky profile. They aren't quite sure where it comes from, but it sure tastes delicious. We couldn't say no when we picked through a stellar lineup of barrels in Newport in May, 2023.
