1994 Taylor Vintage Port
Back In Stock!
100 points James Suckling: "This is, to date, the greatest Vintage Port ever from here. It overwhelmed me years ago when I tasted it from barrel, but only now is it crossing gradually into its drinking window. The intensity is still mind-boggling here, with sweet-and-sour notes as well as mounds of clay. There are violets lurking somewhere too. A full-bodied, medium sweet and sublime Vintage Port, showing forest fruits and freshly picked blackberries on the palate in the form of a creamy, focused and tannic texture." (10/2012) 100 points Wine Spectator...

94 points Wine & Spirits: " *no tasting note given* " (12/2000) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Pinot Noir character suffuses this wine, imbuing its aromas with a compelling meaty, leathery, sweaty quality. Full-bodied and earthy, it nevertheless shows great verve and liveliness in its brisk, citrusy finish. This is one Champagne that’s badly in need of age." (12/2000) Wine Spectator: "Aromatic, with midpalate richness as well as density to the honey and white chocolate flavors. The overall impression is a tightly wound Champagne, with very good concentr...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc) reveals toasty sweet oak in the nose, bombastic levels of black currant fruit and spice along with a hint of mint in the background. (RP)" (12/1998) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Dark, plush and concentrated, with a decided coconut and oak accent mixed with complex plum and berry flavors. Finishes with a rich, focused, generous aftertaste, with fine length. Deftly balanced. (JL)" (11/2004)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The initial hints of secondary aromas (though no sous-bois) and that truffled earth character so often found in a classic Ruchottes merge into complex, intense and still moderately structured flavors where the finish retains just a hint of greeness, which suggests like many '94s the tannins did not achieve full maturity. Still, by the standards of the vintage, this is an unqualified success and while the '94 Ruchottes will not improve further, there is no rush to drink up." (11/2006) John Gilman: "The 1994 Roumier Ruchottes ...

Bid on this 1.5 liter 2-bottle lot of 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep brick color. Wow—what a nose! It comes charging out of the glass with mature, forthright notes of sandalwood, cigar box, powdered cinnamon, camphor and dried mulberries over a core of figs, prunes, gingerbread and kirsch with a waft of potpourri. Medium-bodied, the palate is an exercise in finesse, sporting exquisitely soft, silt-like tannins and seamless freshness to frame the intensely perfumed layers, finishing very long and very spicy. (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $660.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac ((90-92ST), 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Excellent deep color. Pungent oak, talc, and black raspberry on the nose, with a suggestion of superripeness. Lush and sweet; not a blockbuster but quite suave. But compared to the even riper '95 this shows a faint green quality. (ST)" (05/1996)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1994 Fonseca Vintage Port (100WS, 98DC, 97RP). Wine Spectator: "Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking 1948. Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port. *No. 1 Top 100 Wines of 1997, Cellar Selection* (JS)" (04/1997)
