Ribbon Ridge is often considered the prime sub-region in the Willamette Valley for world-class Pinot Noir. This tiny appellation is home to icons such as Beaux Freres, Sequitur, Ribbon Ridge Estate, Patricia Green, Brick House and more. Norris planted their small 10 acre estate in 2007 to a mix of heritage clones (Coury, Wädenswil, Pommard), plus some Dijon 667 and 115. The soils are Wilakenzie, an ancient marine sedimentary soil. Having learnt his craft at famed wineries such as Williams-Selyem, The Hilt / Jonata, Trisaetum, Craggy Range and others, own...

97 points Decanter: "Pure and precise with a fine bead and great balance. Classic Chenin pear and apple aromatics with a streak of lemon. Vibrantly textured with a lemony freshness and a hint of toast on the finish. (DWWA 2022)" (06/2022) K&L Notes: Maison Laudacius is an association of farmers working in the small region of Montlouis-sur-Loire. Founded in 1961 it is made up of 18 of these growers, all farming sustainably across the three villages that make up the Montlouis appellation. (01/2024) 94 points Sam Kim: "Pristine and brightly expressed, the fragrant bouquet shows Granny Smith apple, fresh fig, jalapeno and lime peel aromas, leading to a splendidly flavoursome palate offering terrific power and persistency. 93 points Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cuvee Alis Estate Vineyard is a blend of 51% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 17% Mourvedre, 12% Petite Sirah and 1% Viognier. The nose sings of preserved Morello cherries, mulberries, fruitcake and Chinese five spice with touches of potpourri, black pepper and licorice. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited, the palate provides a solid structure of firm, velvety tannins and tons of freshness to lift all that opulent fruit to a very long, spicy finish. 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine has a highly approachable layer of Bosc pear on the nose, but it’s the Golden Delicious apple and nectarine blossom underlay that are most alluring. White chalk jumps rope with playful acidity on the palate that craves panko-crusted chicken and moules-frites. (RS)" (12/2024) K&L Notes: The wines of Aurore Dezat are a regular feature in our wine club offerings, and her vibrant Sancerre is an easy favorite among K&L staff as well. Aurore makes wine on her family estate in Sury-en-Vaux, which was established by her gr...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Bourgueil is like a slow kiss at the end of a Friday night. The wine has a nose of blackberry, sweet baking spices, strawberry, red raspberry and rosehip. A concentrated midpalate rewards your senses and encourages you to lean in further into a wine that finishes with a soothing finish. *Best Buy* (RS)" (04/2024) K&L Notes: A rich ruby red with notes of violets and red berry fruits, this Cabernet Franc is nicely layered on the palate with brightness running throughout and just a touch of smoke mixed in with some purple ...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a very low-alcohol, brisk and racy style of Pinot Noir, starting with sour cherry and rustic bay leaf aromas. The palate packs orange rind and lemon pith flavors against pomegranate and dusty sage. (MK)" (03/2023)

A pale yellow wine with tiny bubbles, this Crémant de Loire Brut is rounded and delicate with a fine, nervy, complex nose and the freshness of Chenin Blanc, floral Chardonnay, and fruity Cabernet Franc from 20- to 30-year-old vines. With its lively attack, it proceeds gracefully across the palate with nice aromatic persistence in the mouth and lingering notes of fresh peaches and pear. A great opener to a memorable night!

92 points James Suckling: " Tart red fruit on the nose with ripe strawberries and cherries. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins and outstanding balance. The palate displays dusty red fruit with dried flowers and mineral notes on the finish." (03/2024) 92 points Vinous: "The 2022 Pinot Noir Un is remarkably pretty, with a lifted blend of dusty rose and violet pastille accentuating dried strawberries. This model of purity is lifted and refined with crisp red and blue fruits swirling across a stream of brisk acidity. The 2022 leaves a coating of fine...

We can tell you this much: our Kalinda private label hooks you up with awesome wine at a fraction of what you'd otherwise pay for this exact same wine under its normal label. While we have to remain quiet about the source of this beauty, we can tell you that it sells elsewhere under the winery label at a much higher premium. Get it while it lasts.

Château Bois-Malot is located in St-Loubes and situated on the shoreline of the Dordogne River. The soils are clay and light limestone with a subsoil of red pebbles and clay. The wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and is aged for 18 months in tanks, followed by six months in barrels. If you like framboise you will adore this wine — 2015 was a huge success for this property. This is a classic aged Bordeaux from a small estate in the Médoc. It's beginning to show a lovely panoply of spicy, mature aromatics and flavors.
Corsica is one of the great, off-the-radar regions for wine production. The vineyards for Petroni date back to 1885 and are surrounded by the Corsican mountains to the west and the Mediterranean to the east. The property is now in the hands of brothers Jacques and Francois Ramazotti. Like most classic rosés of this region, it is a blend of 50% Niellucciu, 35% Sciaccarellu, and 15% Grenache. How to describe this Corsican rosé? It is one of the finest of its kind with notes of nectarine, peach blossom, and white flowers. It is succulent with wonderful acid...

96 points James Halliday: "All P58 clone from '80 and '82 plantings. Whole-bunch pressed to 500L puncheons (about 20% new). No lees stirring. A touch brighter and deeper in colour than the Hazeldene. Sexy stuff from the first whiff with its aromas of stone fruits, acacia honey and grilled nuts. Glides effortlessly across the silken-textured palate. You know it will age well, but this is an Oakridge chardonnay that you won't need to wait too long to enjoy. *Gold*" (02/2024) 96 points James Suckling: "From the oldest vineyard at this address, planted in ...

This cuvée focuses on different clones of Grenache as well as just about every permitted variety out there (although it’s 85% Grenache). It has a big, sweet nose of blueberries, black cherries, lavender, and peppery incense as well as a full-bodied, layered, powerful yet seamless style on the palate." Domaine Cherrier was founded in 1930. Since then four generations of the family have run the estate. The domaine has limestone and calcareous clay soils that wonderfully influence the character of the grapes grown there. The Sancerre is consistently delicious, with citrus, chalky minerality and light floral notes. Its dry finish complements seafood and cheese beautifully. K&L French Regional buyer Keith Mabry says: "The Cherrier to me is always one of the biggest crowd-pleasing Sancerres/Sauvignon Blancs from anywhere in the world."

96 points James Halliday: "Hand picked, whole-bunch pressed to 500L French puncheons, wild-yeast fermented, matured for 10 months on lees. The Upper Yarra, on red volcanic soils, produces taut wines of extreme length. Here citrus, white stone fruit and green apple are bolstered by natural acidity. Winemaker David Bicknell makes the difficult seem easy." (08/2023) 96 points James Suckling: "Aromas of baked lemon, flint, hazelnut and lime zest. Medium-bodied with bright and driving acidity. 90-92 points Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Le Chardonnay has achingly delicate scents of honey-drizzled white peaches, spiced apples and Bosc pears with wafts of marzipan and pie crust. The medium-bodied palate delivers loads of finely knit apple and stone fruit flavors with a silken texture and bags of freshness, finishing long and spicy. Since Chardonnay is not one of the Bordeaux AC's permitted grapes, this wine uses the relatively new Vin de Pays de l'Atlantique designation. But don't let the declassified designation fool you—this is serious Chardonnay an...
Domaine de la Colombe is based in the village of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, located at elevations between 900 and 1,300 feet. The terroir includes clay-limestone soils in combination with sandier soils in the valley. The higher elevations combined with full sun exposure allow for full ripeness without sacrificing acidic balance and texture. It's a classic patio wine for aperitifs or lightly grilled seafood dishes.

97 points Decanter: "Immediately evokes Old World style on the nose, with a bouquet of mushrooms, arboreal earth and a tinge of black fruit, but on the palate, a generous helping of dried currant, figs and plums. Atypical for a varietal Cabernet Franc in that the pyrazine note is next to nonexistent. But there is a freshness and acid backbone that threads beautifully through a well-balanced and delightful wine. (JG)" (02/2024)

Domaine Jacourette lies in the shadow of the Montagne-Ste-Victoire just east of Aix-en-Provence. Vigneron Helene Dragon took over winemaking duties more than two decades ago, and masterfully crafts one of our freshest and most sought after rosés year-after-year. The winegrowing estate of Chateau les Valentines is more than a century old. The estate originally brought their grapes to the local cooperative, but when Gilles and Pascale Pons took over in 1997, they decided to make their own wine. The "Le Caprice de Clémentine" is part of the second range of wines coming from the estate. Moderately priced, it is a high quality Côtes de Provence ma...

91 points Decanter: "The cooperative in Tavel offers a range of three Tavels which illustrate three different terroirs and this one from the hotter sites with rolled river stones (similar to those of Châteauneuf-du-Pape) is a particular favourite. Bright pink from longer maceration and restrained aromas, this is a blend of eight local varieties, blending red and white grapes. James Suckling: " Bright and delicious with redcurrant and berry aromas and flavors. Light and crisp. Drink now." (12/2022) Vinous: "The 2020 Fleur Haut Gaussens is missing a little freshness on the nose and shows a little sur-maturité. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, herbaceous on the entry, moderate depth with a light saline finish. (NM)" (12/2022) Wine Enthusiast: "This is a balanced wine. From one of Clyde's old friends, and from certified organic vineyards in the Redwood Valley AVA of Mendocino County, the Kalinda Sauvignon Blanc is an intense expression of terroir. Grown in the rocky benchlands of Mendocino County with southwest exposure, the Chance Creek vineyard site, originally planted to Palomino grapes used in the production of California sherry, was purchased by Lou Bock in 1979. He soon replanted the vineyard to Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Sangiovese. Today the mature vines produce incredible fruit and Lou enjoys making wines f...
97 points Decanter: "Most keen drinkers now realise that Australia can produce a gamut of Chardonnay styles, but somehow the word seems harder to get out about Shiraz. This wine from Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills should do the trick for anyone who has yet to realise that cool-climate accounts of the variety can be every bit as compelling as as their warm-climate counterparts. The wine is dark in colour, with lots of episcopal purple; the aromas are bright, lifted and billowing, not just cherry-fresh but with some billowing cherry blossom in there too. I...

Mas Codina is a 40-hectare estate in Penedès, which dates back to 1681. This Brut Rosé consists of Pinot Noir grown in their own vineyards in the middle Penedès region. Here the Garriga brothers are quite pleased with the results they see from the Pinot Noir grown in chalky-clay soils. They have been working organically for the past several years, and their first harvest doing so with certification was 2017. We direct import this delicious Cava, and it is arguably one of our best values in rosé bubbly right now. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

92 points Int'l Wine Review: "A delicious blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier that is wonderfully balanced between the racy acidity, the firm structure and the medium-full body. The nose displays subtle hints of ripe yellow pear, lemon-lime, graham cracker, and white grapefruit pith. The mousse starts out strong but mellows out with time in the glass with notes of Rainer cherry, lemon zest, and cinnamon brioche. For the price point, this wine over-delivers in spades." 90 points Wine Spectator: "Rich, polished and sleek, with expressive raspber...
Alain Corcia founded his négociant company back in 1983. Originally focused on bottling Burgundy, they expanded their grower relationships to include wines from the Rhône, Bordeaux and even Champagne. Our relationship with Alain goes back over three decades, and he and his wife Patricia have supplied us with some of our greatest values from their respective regions.
