I really enjoyed the poached pear and chalky acidity that this wine offers. You get minerals, lemon rind, and those lush poached pears on the palette.

2022 Day Wines "Vin de Days Blanc" Willamette Valley White Blend
Review Date: 05-03-2023
This white blend is absolutely delicious. Poached pear and zesty citrus hit you almost immediately. The acid is nice and zippy as well. Very solid and wonderful wine to enjoy on a warm day.

Shiokawa 'Cowboy Yamahai' Junmai Ginjo Genshu Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Cowboy Junmai Ginjo sake is bold and big for a sake. At 19% abv you definitely feel the intensity. You get umami, big lush fruits, and cooked rice on the palette, all the while being hit in the face with the alcohol, but ending in a smooth finish. It is great for serious sake lovers that want a bolder tasting sake and can be served room temperature or slightly chilled at 40 degrees centigrade or 104 degrees Fahrenheit. It pairs best with richer dishes as well!

Kawatsuru "Olive" Junmai Ginjo Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Longtime brewery worker, Miki Fujioka, recently got promoted to being the head toji for Kawatsuru brewery. She is making waves with this olive sake! The sake itself uses Sanuki olive yeast that is native to the area. The olive yeast does not give out a briny flavour to the sake. Instead the sake is lighter and more delicate overall. You get sweet, lush green apples, and floral notes on the nose. The palette consists of minerals, cotton candy, and ripe stone fruit. Because this sake is delicate, I suggest it is best served well chilled and by itself or with dishes that are lighter like a salad or sashimi.

2002 Domaine De Merval 18 Year Old Single Barrel #103 Cask Strength Calvados (750ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
The apples on this calvados are still very present and persistent for being a 2002. It has a walnut nuttiness, with spices of cloves and cinnamon, and the apples reminds me of eating a warm apple tart during the holidays. Very delicious!

Tedorigawa "Silver Mountain" Yamahai Junmai Sake 720ml
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Tedorigawa brewery is featured in the documentary film, "Birth of Sake." The brewery is located in Ishikawa prefecture and has been around for over 114 years. The Silver Mountain Yamahai Junmai is a rich complex sake with high acidity. You get honey, maple, and I want to say yogurt on the palette. It is delightful to drink at room or even chilled!

Gin Mare "Capri" Limited Edition Mediterranean Gin (700ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Bergamot, olives, lemon peel, rosemary, thyme, and sweet basil, with a touch of oil playfully dance on the palette. This is a great gateway gin for those who want to expand their liquor selection at home. It is very easy to drink and goes well by itself or in a cocktail.

2021 Mas de Libian "Bout d'Zan" Côtes-du-Rhône
Review Date: 04-21-2023
I get black plum, blackberry, minerals, chalk, and blueberries on the palette. This winery is biodynamic and organic certified and off the beaten path of the north west side of Cotes Du Rhone.

Nikka "Miyagikyo" Japanese Single Malt Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Miyagikyo is an incredible NAS (non aging statement) whisky that is reasonably priced. It is the youngest of the Miyagikyo whisky lines, but it is still well balanced in flavours. You get a smoky finish with hints of tobacco lingering on your palette. Like any Japanese whisky's, you get robust floral and smoky notes from the start that mellow out on the finish. This delicate whisky is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.

Sequoia Sake Coastal Genshu Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
This Genshu is a lot bolder than the rest of the Sequoia sake lineup. The sake is less fragrant and more fully bodied that would be best served room temperature or slight warm at 40 degrees centigrade or 104 degrees Fahrenheit. This sake is more alcohol forward with creamy melon and a tough of earth on the palette. This bolder sake would pair best with heartier dishes.

2022 TWR (Te Whare Ra) Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
Review Date: 04-21-2023
Talk about sweet juicy stone fruit and yellow flower on the nose! I get peach, lime zest, pear, minerals, and apricot on the palette. The acid on here is most appealing, giving you a nice refreshing and tingling finish.

COIT Cape Gin - RooibosTea American Dry Gin (750ml)
Review Date: 04-21-2023
The Rooibostea gives this gin a full bodied mouthfeel. You get floral, zesty, and herbal aromas. On the palette I get peppercorn, coconut, cassava bark, a touch of earth, and citrus. It is a London dry style that gores great in martinis.

2021 Kalinda Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

2016 Cornerstone Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 03-31-2023
This cabernet sauvignon has a richer, bolder mouthfeel with tobacco leaves, baking spices, licorice, cassis, and black plum. The aromas consist of herbal and savory notes with hints of leather. The wine comes from a legendary vineyard site in Napa Valley. It is ready to drink now and has the potential to age for quite some time. Don't miss out on this opportunity to grab this + $130 bottle for such an incredible price!

Redwood Empire "Rocket Top" Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey (750ml)
Review Date: 02-02-2023
I am a big fan of everything Redwood Empire has released! The Rocket Top bottle and bond straight rye is delicious from start to finish. The nose consists of Bing cherry, spearmint, cinnamon, with some lush green apples. Butterscotch and cinnamon hit you first on the pallet following spicy cinnamon, mint, and over ripe fruit on the finish.

2019 Domaine Durieu "Henri Durieu" Cotes du Rhone-Villages Plan de Dieu

Heiwa Shuzou "Tsuru-Ume" Lemon Wakayama Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 01-18-2023
If you're looking for a playful and dessert style sake look no further! This is the limoncello of sake! The ume gives you a sweet creamy texture, while the lemon gives you that perfect balance of tartness. They use not only the juice of the lemon, but the skin of it too that awakens your tastebuds. Drinking this well chilled is highly recommended and experiment with it too in a cocktail, you'll be surprised by how versatile this sake is!

Sequoia Sake Coastal Nigori Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 01-11-2023
The filtration on this sake intrigues me. This Nigori has a bit more settlement, typically what you see in a Doburoku or unfiltered style sake. Fun fact about Nigori sake is that it IS filtered, but coarsely filtered. Nigori translates to "cloudy." It is made the traditional style using water, rice, rice koji, and yeast. The nose of this sake consists of sweet honeysuckle and creamy melon. You get hints of coconut and banana with a smooth mellow finish. I love that Sequoia Sake is local to SF and that we offer here!

2016 Canon Chaigneau, Lalande de Pomerol
Review Date: 01-11-2023
Don't be alarmed with the umami that you get first thing on the nose. This Bordeaux has more earthy, mushroom, and savory notes with fruity undertones. It is delicious with a short finish.
2009 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien
Review Date: 01-11-2023
Cherry cola and sweet sappy fruit aromas resonate on the nose. The tannin structure is well defined and rounds out on the pallet. You get blueberry, tobacco, oak, and a tough of sweet fruit at the finish. I would highly recommend decanting for a few hours to get the most out of this wine.
Shiokawa 'NOPA' Junmai Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 01-04-2023
If you enjoy more earthy and fuller-bodied sake, look no further. Nopa has perfect umami flavours that pair best with heartier dishes. You get notes of citrus, lemon curd, and smoke with black pepper, kelp, and umami. The rice is polished at 90% which is uncommon for sake rice to be polished at. However, this sake is making a statement with its low polished rates by allowing it to be more eco-friendly and stirring the pot with the high polished sake that we are used to. Don’t let the low-polished sake scare you, instead it gives off bolder flavours that you don’t typically see in high-polished sake. In addition, this sake is brewed without temperature control causing the fermentation process to vary with the seasons, longer in the cold months and shorter in the warmer months. It is well worth the try and will definitely expand your sake horizons!

Nikka "From The Barrel" Blended Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 01-04-2023
This full-bodied whisky is full of surprises. On the nose, you get cracked pink peppercorn, oak, poached pear, and floral notes. The pallet starts off with sweet toffee followed by hits of cocoa and zesty baking spices. Nikka from the barrel is well-balanced and is wonderful on its own, but also enjoyable in a Manhattan or a high ball.

Wakaze Yuzu French Sake (750ml)
Review Date: 12-13-2022
This Yuzu sake does not use added sugars to sweeten the yuzu flavour. Instead you get the fresh tartness from the fruit that intensely awakes your tastebuds. They also add some mint to enhance that lingering citrus that I find quite enticing. Must try.

Wakaze Classic French Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 12-13-2022
This sake is more robust than your typical Japanese sake. It maybe has to do with the water level of softness/hardness. Typically soft water gives you more delicate flavours and harder water more heavier flavours that pair well with a heartier meal. On the nose you get pear, lilac, and citrus. The pallet consists of a zesty, almost carbonated texture that rounds out towards the finish. It is quite lovely and worth the try. I'm really enjoying the expansion of sake globally and the new producers that are emerging from not only Japan, but other countries too!

Method and Madness Single Grain Virgin Spanish Oak Finished Irish Whiskey (750ml)

LALO Blanco Tequila (750ml)
Review Date: 11-15-2022
From the producers who brought you, Don Julio, comes Lalo. Lalo’s concept is to continue his father and grandfather’s legacy by producing the best Blanco tequila without any preservatives. This tequila is very approachable and great for people who want to explore a new tequila. Meeting Lalo was an honor in hearing his story about wanting to preserve and pay homage to the agave and keeping his tequila as clean and pure as possible. You get sweet herbaceous notes of fresh-cut grass, and lemongrass, with a touch of earth. It rounds out mid-pallet and has a soft, silky finish. Very enjoyable and such a great value!

The SG Shochu Kome Rice Shochu (750ml)
Review Date: 10-15-2022
The base of this shochu is ginjo. For those unfamiliar with what ginjo means, it is a sake polished with no more than 60% of the grains that remained the same after milling. The main difference between this shochu and sake is that the shochu is distilled at a higher ABV (this one in particular at 40%, compared to sake which is between 14-16%). I get floral notes of lilac and freesia on the nose. The shochu is light and delicate with pineapple, red licorice, and green apple. This shochu is best served neat but also does fantastic on the rocks or mizuwari (mixed with room temperature water) too.

Mii no Kotobuki "Pastoral Beauty" Hojo Biden Yamahai Junmai Sake (720ml)
Review Date: 09-10-2022
Red licorice is a heavily present on both the nose and pallet. The Junmai is clean, vibrant with vanilla, almonds, and honey. It is a bit higher at 16-17% giving this sake a richer mouthfeel as well. It is produced in Kyushu, Japan and uses Itoshima Yamada Nishiki rice, a delicate long grain, that can be a tad tricky when it come to growing in the Fukuoka prefecture. Mii No Kotobuki does an excellent job producing this small batch sake.

Yamada Shoten "Everlasting Roots" Tokubetsu Junmai Sake 900ml
Review Date: 09-03-2022
This is one of the best value sake for a 900mL bottle! The creamy, savory texture dances beautifully on the pallet along with cloves, citrus, nutty aromas, touch of smoke, and earthy notes. This sake is richer and drier and would pair well with hearty meats and cheeses.

This single barrel is quite enjoyable. The aromatics of this whiskey come off strong with notes of cinnamon, toasty oak, cloves, toffee, and chocolate. Yellow Spot 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (750ml)
Review Date: 07-10-2022
Out of all the Spot Whiskeys made by Jameson out there, I have got to say that this one is my personal favorite. The sweet corn, sweet bread, nuttiness dances ever so playful on the pallet. It is made using both malted and unmalted barley in a single pot and finished in Malaga casks. In the beginning, it starts off hot, but with a little decanting this whiskey opens up beautifully and ends with a soft finish.

Nikka Coffey Still Japanese Grain Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 06-23-2022
The Coffey Grain is probably one of my favorite go to Japanese whisky. It is predominantly made from corn and finished in matured oak and American oak to give it a soft and sweet finish. This whisky is essentially a bourbon and has notes of toasted candied nuts, caramel, with a slight char. To be completely honest, it is such an easy drinker that I can definitely drink an entire bottle in one sitting if I really tried (I do not recommend or encourage that whatsoever). The Coffey Grain is best enjoyed neat and can be prepared in a cocktail. Might I add, a matcha highball is refreshing on a hot day! Try it!

Nikka "Yoichi" Japanese Single Malt Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 05-19-2022
Nikka Yoichi is exquisite! This NAS whisky is distilled in Hokkaido and reflects beautifully like a whisky from the Scottish Highlands. The tropical fruit of mango and coconut are also very present and delightful.

2020 Domaine de Fondrèche Ventoux Rouge
Review Date: 05-07-2022
Domaine de Fondreche Ventoux Rouge is a fruit bomb. The terroir consists of limestone and clay, allowing a well-balanced structure of minerality. It is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre with high tannins, medium-plus body, and dark raspberry and blackberry notes. This wine would go perfectly with a rack of lamb during your next family/friend gathering.

Redwood Empire "Pipe Dream" Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)
Review Date: 04-06-2022
Hmm, where should I start with Redwood Empire? A fun little fact is that Redwood Empire promises to plant a tree with every bottle sold. So, from here we’re already off to an amazing start. Diving into their Pipe Dream Bourbon, you get enriching flavours of vanilla, baking spices, and toasted pecans. The mouthfeel of this whiskey is delicate with a hint of a black pepper spice at the finish. I personally enjoy drinking Pipe Dream by itself, but it is equally as delicious in a cocktail as well. If you’re looking for a new bourbon to try, I highly recommend grabbing a bottle on your next visit!
