2016 Fess Parker "The Big Easy" Santa Barbara County Red Blend
Review Date: 11-06-2018
The Big Easy just screams Central Coast Rhone! It has big, juicy, ripe fruit characters that are inviting and great to have around for the holiday season. Notes of blackberries, raspberry liquor, chocolate and vanilla are shown on the nose as well as on the palate. The finish is nice and smooth with moderate tannin and acidity. If you love bold, juicy wines, the Big Easy is your bottle!

2015 Wind Gap Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 10-10-2018
This is an absolute killer Sonoma Coast Pinot, especially with this low price tag!! It has that wonderful saline character you get from high quality Sonoma Coast vineyards with a lovely light body. The savory quality adds to the nice complexity with the crunchy red fruits and a hint of smokiness. This would make a wonderful wine to pair with food and great for the upcoming holiday season!!

2013 Site Wines "Stolpman Vineyard" Roussanne Santa Barbara County
Review Date: 09-29-2018
Jeremy also makes a great Roussanne from the famed Stolpman estate. A deft balance of power and finesse, this wine combines rich stone fruit flavors, spicy lees notes, broad texture and crystalline acidity. Lovely length and complexity. Aged in 500-liter puncheons.

2013 Site Wines "Larner Vineyard" Grenache Ballard Canyon Santa Barbara
Review Date: 09-29-2018
\This is another wine that Jeremy poured for us that was really impressive. Larner Vineyard, dominated by sandy soil, is on the southern end of Ballard Canyon, a warmer wine growing region in Santa Barbara County. Like the Site Syrah, this wine possesses real power with black cherry, blueberry, baking spice and floral notes. Fresh, with fine tannin, this wine will easily continue to age for another 6–8 years.

2013 Site Wines "Bien Nacido Vineyard" Syrah Santa Maria Valley
Review Date: 09-29-2018
This is a stunner of a wine. The fruit source, Bien Nacido Vineyard, is the most famous site in the Santa Maria Valley, dominated by Los Osos clay loam soil and greatly influenced by the nearby Pacific Ocean. Other well-known wineries that grab fruit from here include Sine Qua Non, Jonata, Au Bon Climat and Ojai. About 85% of the fruit was destemmed, 15% foot-stomped, and then it was aged 20 months in new barrique. This Syrah is powerful and concentrated without losing balance of acidity and finesse. Notes of smoked meats, raspberries, spices and herbs really take the stage with ageworthy structure and a long finish that’ll keep you coming back.

2016 Adelaida Estate Adelaida District Zinfandel
Review Date: 09-27-2018
Adelaida’s Zinfandel block was planted in 2003 with cuttings taken from two of the oldest vineyards in Paso Robles (planted in the 1880s). The heritage clones are head-trained and dry farmed at 1,500–2,000 feet in elevation in the district’s mountainous terroir. Lots of brambly fruit, briary notes, lift and freshness from the calcareous soils.

2015 Adelaida Estate "Anna's Red" Adelaida District Red Blend
Review Date: 09-27-2018
An homage to the legendary wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, grown on steep, south-facing slopes at high elevations, this GSM blend has a dash of Petite Sirah. Rich, full-bodied, smoky dark fruits. Leather, dried herbs, scorched earth. Ripe tannins, lovely purity and balance.

2016 Adelaida "HMR Estate Vineyard" Adelaida District Chardonnay
Review Date: 09-27-2018
The Chardonnay from HMR vineyard is quite unlike other Paso expressions of this varietal. The combination of these old vines and shallow, limestone soils really shows on the mineral-infused palate intertwined with fine acidity from the cooling coastal breezes. Remarkably refined and elegant, a surprise favorite for many of us on the trip to the Central Coast.

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne
Review Date: 09-07-2018
The Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose is one of my favorite rose Champagnes in the store! It comes from all Grand Cru vineyards mostly in the south and north of the Montagne de Reims and is entirely Pinot Noir. It has a gorgeous salmon-pink color in the glass, and is very expressive on the nose and palate. It's full of red fruit character and richness from 5 years aging on the less. Every time I go back to this wine it never disappoints!

2017 Kalinda Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 09-05-2018
Some of you may know the Kalinda drill, and that we cannot tell you who makes this wine. However, we can say that this Pinot Noir is at a price much lower than what you'd pay at the winery, making it an amazing value. The nose is delicate with red fruit and floral notes and a hint of spice. On the palate this wine has both good acidity and tannin and will have great aging potential. This wine will really start to blossom with another year in the bottle.

2016 Hahn "SLH" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Review Date: 09-05-2018
This year's release of the Hahn SLH is a killer value and the ultimate crowd pleaser! It has a bold nose of blackberries, plum, earth and toasted oak while the palate has fantastic balance with plenty of fresh acidity. This wine is ready to drink and would make a great wine for any party or occasion. It's no wonder why vintage after vintage, the Hahn SLH is a best seller among our customers!

2016 Substance "Sunset Vineyard" Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 09-05-2018
This Sauvignon Blanc from Washington was a pleasant surprise. It has an interesting, complex nose that is savory and flinty, reminding me of a French inspired style white. Bright citrus and stone fruits also come through on the palate along with persistent acidity and freshness. The price point is a bonus, making it a great value.

2015 Venge "Silencieux" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 09-05-2018
If lush California Cabs are your go-to, don't pass this one up! Venge's Silencieux is a powerful Napa Cabernet with juicy fruit and round mouthfeel. This wine is upfront and expressive with flavors of blackberry, plum, cedar and dark chocolate. The finish is soft and silky, making it a great wine for near term consumption.

2017 Eighty Four Wines Napa Valley Carneros Albariño
Review Date: 08-16-2018
Elias Fernandez and Doug Shafer of the famous Shafer Vineyards have created something super special with this wine. From the first sniff, you immediately know you're drinking Albarino. There are incredible aromatics of orange blossom, peaches, roses, and tart apple. On the palate, its full body is balanced with chalkiness and bright acidity. A great summer wine, ready for light dishes or on its own!

2016 Intrinsic Columbia Valley Red Blend
Review Date: 07-26-2018
This is a Columbia Valley red blend made with Bordeaux varieties but in a unique way. Winemaker Juan Muñoz-Oca aged Malbec juice on Cabernet Franc skins and Cabernet Franc juice on Malbec to make a decadent, layered red. Bold flavors and aromas include black cherries, dark chocolate, fig and raspberry liqour with a smooth, silky mouthfeel and mellow tannin. The balance is simply on point, and can be enjoyed now.

Seghesio's Sonoma Zinfandel is easily one of the best Zinfandels at this price point. Sourcing from all over Sonoma including Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley, this wine is nicely balanced with black and red fruits and lovely spice. A touch of Petite Sirah is added to amp up that classic California Zin character. Pair it with your barbecued meats this summer and you won't be disappointed!

2015 Stonestreet "Estate Vineyards" Alexander Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 06-29-2018
This wonderful, voluminous Chardonnay comes from the top of the Mayacamas Mountains, looking out over Alexander Valley. 100% barrel fermented Chardonnay with monthly lees stirring gives a delicious richness and body to this wine. Aromas of peach, lemon creme, green apple and graham cracker are complemented with a palate balanced with acidity and precision.

2015 Calera "40th Anniversary Vintage" Central Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 06-19-2018
Calera's Central Coast Pinot Noir is always a fantastic bottle that won't break the bank. With a lot of concentration and depth from the 2015 vintage, this Pinot Noir has richness of fruit with a bit of savory and spice notes as well. The palate has lovely floral and blackberry notes and a nice structure that can hold up in the cellar for a few years, but this is drinking fantastically now. Get this awesome value while you can!

2015 Roserock (Drouhin Oregon) Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir
Review Date: 06-13-2018
I became a big fan of these Roserock wines when I tasted their previous releases and this 2015 did not disappoint. Roserock is a special site on the southern tip of Eola-Amity Hills in the Willamette Valley dominated by ancient volcanic soils. This wine is beautifully balanced with floral, spice, lifted dark berries and a medium tannic structure. I highly suggest this to all the Oregon Pinot fans out there!

2014 AXR Napa Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 06-12-2018
This is one of my favorite California Chardonnays I’ve tasted recently. This wine is made by Jean Hoefliger, a Swiss native who’s full time job is crafting wines for Alpha Omega Winery. AXR's 2014 Chardonnay shows excellent balance with a round, full palate and driving acidity. This crowd pleaser has complex character with stone fruits, citrus, minerality and a bright, clean finish.

Woodinville Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

The coolest thing about this distillery is that they are truly grain to glass. They grow all their own grains, do everything by hand and are meticulous in their craft which really shows in this whiskey. Full of flavor, Woodinville’s Straight Bourbon shows creme brulee, caramel, vanilla, spice and a nice sweet finish. Don’t miss out on this distillery's debut to California.

2015 Halcón "Cerise Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Review Date: 05-31-2018
Anderson Valley is becoming one of my favorite California regions for Pinot Noir because of its cooler climate, lighter, acid driven wines. Cerise Vineyard is a special site of about 12 acres situated above the town of Boonville. Halcon's 2015 offering has wild strawberry, violet and earthy tones on the nose while the palate has lively acidity, silky texture and a very long finish. A really awesome showing from this vineyard that shouldn't be missed!

2013 Jonata "Todos" Central Coast Red Blend
Review Date: 05-31-2018
This is a wine that certainly has everything. Todos is an unexpected blend of Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauv, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Merlot and all these components work together seamlessly. This wine is super complex with raspberries, strawberries, dark chocolate, cured meats and spices with balanced acidity. The is a great central coast offering worth every penny that can be enjoyed in the near term.

2015 Robert Craig Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 05-31-2018
What a truly phenomenal value for top notch Mount Veeder Cabernet! The fruit for this wine comes from the Pym Rae vineyard which is one of the highest in the AVA at over 1800 feet in elevation. This is Robert Craig's last vintage from this property, so I wouldn't hesitate to grab a bottle. The nose just screams Mount Veeder with blackberry, cherry, pencil shaving and eucalyptus character. It has a big, robust palate with firm structure that will begin to show fantastically in a few years.

2015 Tensley "Colson Canyon Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah
Review Date: 05-24-2018
This powerful Syrah comes from Tensley's Colson Canyon Vineyard, a mountainous site at approx 1,400 feet in elevation in the Santa Maria Valley. The 2015 vintage showed dark fruits, deep concentration and firm structure due to the previous years of drought. There is blackberry, rhubarb and blueberry fruit on the nose along with dried meats and a floral lift. This is a fantastic Syrah with enough structure to withstand some time in the cellar, but can also be enjoyed now.

2016 Halcón "Alturas" Yorkville Highlands Syrah
Review Date: 05-17-2018
The previous vintage of this Syrah from Halcon was stunning, but this 2016 is even better. This Syrah has 50% stem inclusion, and also has 3% of Viognier co-fermented to give it a beautiful floral lift. There's complexity and balance in this wine with expressed notes of violets, red and black fruit, exotic spice and dried herbs. It's full-bodied with nice structure, so there's definitely aging potential in this Syrah. All this for 30 bucks? You can't go wrong.

2011 Roederer Estate "L'Ermitage" Anderson Valley Brut Sparkling Wine
Review Date: 05-12-2018
Roederer is one of the best when it comes to California sparkling wines. Their Anderson Valley estate sparking is fantastic, but the L'Ermitage is even a step up from that. This wine is only made in certain vintages that are decidedly great with added reserve wine, 2006 and 2007 in this particular bottling. It has fine bubbles and flavors of hazelnut, citrus and toast. Delicious!

2013 Maysara "Cyrus - Momtazi Vineyard" McMinnville Pinot Noir (Biodynamic)
Review Date: 05-12-2018
This is a fantastic Pinot from Oregon, especially if you want to dabble in biodynamic/natural wines. It's an alluring wine that's rustic, savory, floral and doesn't fail to show fruit too. Notes of blackberries, earth, violets, incense, cedar and spice are expressed with a medium body. Shows great with some decanting and even the next day.

2017 Stolpman "Para Maria" Santa Barbara County Rosé
Review Date: 05-01-2018
Stolpman's Para Maria Rose (and Para Maria Red Blend) is named for Maria Solorzano, Stolpman's quiet, hard-working vineyard crew manager. This brand is a 50/50 partnership between the Solorzano and Stolpman families. Inspired by Rhone-style roses, this Syrah/Cab blend has delicious light red fruit character like red cherries and watermelon. There is also a nice roundness on the palate that is created from the neutral barrel aging. This is a perfect summer sipper at a great price!

Dierberg's 2014 Chardonnay is bright and refreshing and great for the upcoming summer months! On the nose, there are restrained citrus, honey and graham cracker notes. 2017 Aerena San Francisco Bay AVA Rosé
Review Date: 04-17-2018
The team behind this rose and the Resolute brand is Blackbirds Vineyards, who are known for their Napa Valley Cabernet. Winemakers Aaron Pott and Kyle Mizuno sourced the Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignane for this rose oddly enough from the San Francisco AVA. This playful, red fruited, dry rose is absolutely perfect for the upcoming summer months. It is also a fun opportunity to try something from this unknown wine growing region.

2014 Keenan "Reserve" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 04-10-2018
This is an absolutely beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon from the family owned and operated Keenan winery. This solar-powered, sustainably grown property is up in the historic Spring Mountain District where Cabernet thrives and produces concentrated berries and wines that are made to last. This reserve bottling definitely shows that. Rich, dark fruit character with dried herbs and eucalyptus and a solid tannic structure. With some time spent in the cellar, this wine will shine.

2015 Dominus "Napanook" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Review Date: 04-05-2018
Here is a fantastic opportunity to experience Cabernet from the same vineyard as the famous Dominus at a fraction of the cost! This year's Napanook is simply classic with violets, black cherry, cassis, mint and lovely oak integration. It's approachability gives you the opportunity to open this beauty up in a couple years and another in 10 years to see how its evolved.

2015 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 03-20-2018
This is not your typical California Chardonnay as it's racy and minerally, yet maintains fruit richness. All estate fruit from 3 vineyards in St. Rita Hills contribute orange blossom, lime zest, kiwi and mineral flavors and aromas. This sharply focused wine only sees neutral barrels and does not go through malolactic fermentation to keep this wine elegant and fresh. If you lean towards a more French style Chardonnay, I'd say give this one a shot!

2016 Wilson Foreigner "Rorick Vineyard" Albariño Sierra Foothills
Review Date: 03-07-2018
This is an Albarino that is absolutely worth the money! Wilson Foreigner is a collaboration between a Napa based couple and a South African couple who strive to show case true terroir with minimal intervention. The lovely richness of this wine comes from fermenting in neutral French and Hungarian barrels, as well as full malolactic fermentation. Fresh citrus, floral and saline are expressed on the palate and finishes with a nice softness.

2014 Galerie "Pleinair" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 02-22-2018
Napa Cabernet at this price does not get any better. I absolutely love the balance of rich fruit, tobacco and baking spices that are shown in this wine. The dusty, earthiness this wine has is compelling and the structure is firm with lovely acidity. This delicious wine can be drunk now, or held for several years.

2014 Galerie "Latro" Knight's Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 02-22-2018
Winemaker Laura Díaz Muñoz creates Galerie's Latro from Knights Valley which is slightly cooler than Napa and lends elegance and minerality to the wine. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has intense, dark fruit character coming from the small berries in the vineyard and mountainous soils gives mineral and earthy notes. Cocoa powder, dried herbs, blackberries, currants and a fine tannic backbone tie this Cab together. This is a serious Cabernet for this price, and it will age beautifully.

2015 Domaine Serene "Evenstad Reserve" Dundee Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 01-23-2018
Domaine Serene makes one of my favorite Chardonnays from Oregon, and their 2015 really delivers. Bright citrus, brioche and honey aromas jump from the glass while the palate has melon, lemon and cedar notes. Spent a little over a year in 40% new French oak, but this wine remains incredibly balanced from its crisp acidity. This is a serious Chardonnay that is well worth its price.

2014 Domaine Serene "Yamhill Cuvée" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Review Date: 01-23-2018
This is one of Domaine Serene's entry-level wines that comes from their estate vineyards in Willamette Valley's Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity Hills and Yamhill Carlton. The cuvée is very approachable and intended for near-term consumption. Ripe red fruits, dried herbs and dark chocolate are expressed on the nose while the palate unfolds more layers of spice and coffee. Fresh and silky on the palate, this wine will please many Pinot Noir lovers!

2015 Ridge Vineyards "Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

The 2017 fall releases from Ridge have dropped and they are just as we'd expect from the famous Zinfandel producer - fabulous! Lytton Springs, situated in the Dry Creek Valley, is always an incredibly approachable, elegant Zinfandel that is a great introduction to Ridge. It is not overwhelmed by new oak (only 15% is new) and is layered with dried herbs, oak spice and black fruits. This iconic wine will only get better as time goes on, but don't be afraid to enjoy now!

2015 Ridge Vineyards "Pagani Ranch" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel
Review Date: 10-13-2017
This is a Zinfandel based blend that's simply well-made with fruit from a famous, classic Sonoma vineyard. Pagani Ranch contains some of the oldest vines dating back to the 1880's and Ridge has been sourcing from them since 1991. The 2015 blend consists of mostly Zinfandel, with Alicante Bouschet and Petite Sirah adding color, fullness and dark elements to the wine. No doubt, this is a rich wine with brambly berry fruit, some spice and hints of floral notes as well. The intense flavors and aromas will certainly please all fellow Zin lovers.
