Wine and food (together and separately) are among my favorite things in life! I find wine especially intriguing in its ability to tell a story, to bring you closer to its source and the people of the land. Understanding its roots and its art is especially intriguing to me.<br><br>I also love cooking and I like to run my home kitchen as if it were my little restaurant :-). I think there's nothing better than preparing a meal at home and sharing it with some of your family and friends... with wine of course!<br><br>My favorite types of wines recently are those, as I like to say, that have enough backbone to support their fruit. I'm usually turned off by the overwhelming "fruit-bomb" that doesn't have the structure to support its flavor, but I'm still a BIG fan of the classic, BALANCED, Napa cab. Montalcino is probably my favorite wine region in the world right now (I'm excited about 2007 rosso's), but I am really into the Mediterranean coastal appelations that stretch from Northern Italy, the Languedoc, and northeast Spain. I'm also a big fan of wines from Bordeaux and Argentina (I know, very different regions!). When the wine is red, there's not too much I dislike!
