2005 Dubourg, St-Emilion

Rather tight now, this will have plenty to offer in a couple of years time.
Its a savoury wine and rather masculine. Lovers of plush soft wines should look elsewhere. Its not Merlot as many people think of it.
Above all its unbeatable value. A perfect example of the maxim: "In great years purchase regular wines" (the corallary being: in poor vintages buy great wines.). Good find K&L.
Looks like 2005 is a great year for affordable bordeaux.

2004 Château d'Estoublon Les Baux de Provence Rouge

Inviting and generous wine for winter nights.
Grenache and Syrah for appeal to the senses. Cab Sauv for structure and balls.
This is a food wine - not a sipper. Some time in the decanter dispelled some residual volatile notes.
Unbeatable at this price point.
