1991 Cragganmore 20 Year Old Faultline Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 05-15-2012
My first sip, my first thought was "disappointment". It tasted like Johnny Walker. But the finish was incredibly long. So I took another. And was less disappointed. There's a lot going on here, it's just subtle and requires some focus and concentration. Buy and enjoy and discuss with friends. Just don't let your first impression ruin a perfectly good whisky.

Highland Park 16 Year Old "Thor" Isle of Orkney Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Review Date: 04-23-2012
Disappointing. That's the frst word that leaps to mind. It's not bad, not by any stretch, and it has some redeeming qualities (the finish is lo-o-o-o-ng), but with all the hype and the packaging and the price, I expected so much more than this whisky delivers. Get the 18-yr old. It's so much better.

Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Whisky (750ml)
Review Date: 12-22-2011
Yes, it's good, especially for a blend. Is it exactly like the original, who knows? BUt it is tasty, somewhat smokey, kinda like Johnnie Walker. The packaging is a hoot.

Laphroaig "Triple Wood" Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Review Date: 12-04-2011
The best whisky I've had this year, bar none. The extra oloroso finish really softens the wood/smoke and makes this a thoroughly enjoyable dram. Great for sitting by an indoor fire, with friends. My bottle disappeared all too quickly and head to be replenished, pronto. Buy one as a gift and keep one for yourself. You will not be sorry.

1983 Dailuaine 27 Year Old "K&L Exclusive - Chieftain's" Single Barrel Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Review Date: 11-26-2011
I don't know. The nose is excellent, the initial impression on the palate, explosive. But the finish is so short. You tend to drink it too quickly, because the finish doesn't linger. Good, not great.

1997 Springbank K&L Exclusive 14 Year Single Madeira Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky
Review Date: 11-26-2011
The first word that comes to mind is "big". From the intial aroma, which leaps out of the glass at you, through the vibrant, almost over-powering, but not quite, taste of the Madeira, to one of the longest finishes I have enjoyed. Not for the faint of heart. You really have to enjoy the madeira (read: very sherry-like) taste to truly enjoy this one.
