Ardbeg "Corryvreckan" Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Review Date: 12-12-2013
This whisky is phenomenal. It has the full peat and smoke of most ardbegs, some of the "medicinal" flavors a drinker would expect, but a much richer, fuller taste than most. It is one of my all time favorite heavily peated whiskies.

2004 Jean-Francois Merieau "Alliance des Generations" Touraine Rouge (some stained labels)
Review Date: 10-12-2011
(Rating considers the price) This wine is delicious. It's big, it's intense, and it is delicious. I thought it was best fully two days after opening, a friend felt it was best three days after opening (we'll never know about four days after opening, no bottle of this will last that long).
I suspect it will be good for quite a while, but it is delicious enough now. It's a big wine, and the K&L staff reviews above characterize it better than I would. Decant.

1996 Lanessan, Haut-Médoc

Two bottles tried:
First bottle was quite pleasant, but not with too much fruit or scent. A gentle, but not especially compelling introduction to older wine.
Second bottle was vinegar. Pity.
