2011 Suertes del Marqués "7 Fuentes" Valle de Orotava (Tenerife)
Review Date: 11-17-2013
The "7 Fuentes" is an exotic red wine. Beautiful perfume of lilac, violets and spice box permeate the red cherry and raspberry fruit. More medium bodied and fine on the palate, this could be that Holiday wine that impresses all your friends and relatives.

2012 Chakana "Maipe Reserve" Malbec Mendoza
Review Date: 11-17-2013
The Maipe is always a reliable middle styled Malbec. This strikes the right balance of silky texture and well portioned black fruit flavors. Notes of currant, licorice, chocolate and lavendar. If you are looking to take that next step up in quality for a delicious Malbec, this one's in the right direction.

Faultline Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
Review Date: 10-30-2013
I love the subtle perfume of the rye in this. I get that subtle grassy note with sweet vanilla notes and buttered toffee character. Congrats to the spirits buyers on this selection, this is my go to favorite right now.

Clear Creek Framboise Eau de Vie 375ml
Review Date: 10-30-2013
Very rare and incredibly hard to produce, notes that tend to get people's attention. This is as pure an expression of Framboise that you could hope for, beautiful clean aromas and a long finish. Sure it's not cheap but the best Eau de Vies never are, and this is one of the best.

2011 Domaine Gérard Seguin Fixin "La Place"

Bright and fresh and full of cranberry and pomegranite fruit. Nothing says fall weather and roasted birds better than this wine.

2012 J. Bouchon "Canto Norte" Maule Valley
Review Date: 9-5-2013
Don't shy away from this if you are a merlot hater. This is actually a perfect blend with the addition of a little carmenere, cab sauv and cab franc. Currants, blackberry, baking spices, and a touch of capsicum. Classic Bordeaux style blend with a nice core of fruit. Delicious and a steal for the price!

2012 Casa Silva Carménère Colchagua Valley
Review Date: 9-5-2013
The Casa Silva is a cleaner version of carmenere. It is full bodied and luscious with purple fruit flavors and a touch of herb that reminds you that you are drinking carmenere. Perfect with some grilled skirt steak.

2010 Finca El Encinal Crianza Ribera del Duero
Review Date: 9-5-2013
Deep blackberry and roasted plum fruit with a touch of vanilla on the finish. This is superlative Ribera with supple tannins and bold but not over the top fruit. I can feel some grilled lamb chops paired with this wine calling my name.

Paul Chollet Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc de Noir
Review Date: 7-10-2013
What a delightful surprise! Loaded with red fruit flavors of cherry and cranberry, there is also a rich golden apple core to this. Creamy mousse and length on the palate with layers of flavors. I loved it!

2007 Paul Chollet "Concerto" Crémant de Bourgogne
Review Date: 7-10-2013
Don't tell Gary Westby I said this, but some of our fine DI Champagnes have a new challenger knocking at the door. Roasted apple aromas, toasted brioche, hints of vanilla bean. I would swear this was Meursault if it didn't have bubbles in it. This deserves serious consideration against Champagnes at twice the price.

2012 Renacer Punto Final Classico Malbec
Review Date: 7-9-2013
Terrific blackberry fruit and raspberry coulis flavors mix with roasted meat and a touch of vanilla. It has a lush mouthfeel and supple sweet tannins. Many Malbecs have an overwhelming over-ripeness but this wine glides along a seamless edge of balance and fruit lusciousness.

2004 La Rioja Alta "Viña Ardanza" Reserva Rioja
Review Date: 7-9-2013
I am a huge fan of La Rioja Alta. I think the wines are classic, balanced and age really well. The '04 Ardanza is a great follow-up to the 2001 (one of our best selling wines last year!) and has the stuffing to last for quite awhile. Sweet red currants, mulled cherries and baked plums fill the palate. Aromas of pipe tobacco, vanilla and spice compliment the fruit. An earthy forest floor quality lends beauty to a long and complex finish. Even more accessible than the 2001, this wine will drink now and continue to develop for quite some time.

2010 Cousiño Macul "Antiguas Reservas" Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley
Review Date: 7-9-2013
I don't usually go out of my way to recommend Cab from Chile, but Cousino Macul consistently produces a solid rendition for a very fair price. Classic notes of black currants, roasted plum, a hint of green tobacco and a touch of sweet roasted tomato. This is clean and fresh and better than just about any other cab from any other region at this price.

2012 Sigalas Assyrtiko Santorini
Review Date: 5-27-2013
You would be hard pressed to find a better white wine coming in from Greece. For that matter, this is world class wine that transcends borders in its depth of flavor but still maintains an incredible sense of place. This is rich almost visceral with lemon curd, white flower notes and nectarine flavors. Just try it already!
