Vivid ruby. Deeply pitched dark berry, licorice and violet scents show very good clarity and complicating notes of smoky minerals and botanical herbs. Fleshy and broad in the mouth, with juicy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors gaining sweetness with air. Rich yet lively Beaujolais with excellent finishing clarity and cling and smooth tannins that come in late. (JR) (2/2015)
This comes from 75-year-old vines on the Haute Ronze hill at 320 meters of elevation in sandy and granitic soils, with favorable south and south-east exposures. Aged 9 months in concrete vats, this sees no wood.
