1999 Justin "Isosceles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend
A smooth, silky texture supports ripe black cherry, blackberry, cassis, bay leaf, sage, anise, toast and chocolate flavors. Moderate acidity and firm, ripe tannins provide structure. Long on the finish.
Aging well, offering a mix of fresh cherry, berry, sage, mineral and earth notes, with mature anise, roasted coffee, herb and red plum. This has excellent balance, depth and focus. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.-1999 California Cabernet blind retrospective (2009). Drink now through 2014. (Web-2009)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 1999 Isosceles (an unfiltered blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 17% Merlot) reveals copious quantities of earthy black currant, fig, and charcoal-infused fruit with a touch of new oak in the background. Full-bodied, with plenty of muscle as well as depth, it has a similar weight, but less complexity than the Reserve bottling. This promising 1999 can be drunk now as well as over the next 10-15 years.
