1983 Filhot, Sauternes (375ml)

SKU #970030 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

This is an attractive, lighter-weight Sauternes without any evidence of serious botrytis. The wine possesses straightforward, flowery, ripe quasi-viscous flavors presented in a medium-bodied format....Last tasted, 4/86. (RP, 1998) ... Dark golden/yellow hue. An intense nose of honey and marmalade with evidence of little botrytis. Lacks definition on the palate that has notes of marmalade and dried apricot. Fades at the finish. A good, if unremarkable Filhot. Drinking now. Tasted May 2002. (Neil Martin)

Wine Spectator

Distinctive, complex pine-nut, cedar, quince and fig flavors make you come back for another sip, but it also tastes woodier than most '83s. (4/1995)
