Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut (1.5L)
Focused and vibrant, with aromas of creamy apple, cinnamon and hazelnut leading to complex, layered flavors of lemon custard, mineral and almond. The finish lingers.
Wine & Spirits
Roederer Estate’s Brut is reliably open and delicious, this year’s cuvée bursting with concentrated apple flavor. It’s clean and dry with a long, delicate finish enhanced by the barrel-aged reserve wines that winemaker Arnaud Weyrich blends in. Its bold flavors and vinous texture would be great with cracked crab.
*One Star* Taking its usual place among the better basic Bruts of the year, Roederer's latest is yet again a sleek and spirited wine of great freshness and verve. It hews to the crispness and pert delicacy that we associate with fine Blanc de Blancs, but it musters a full measure of yeasty richness even while maintaining its lively step, and it is one of the few of its type that is sure to age well.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Light yellow. Pear, orange zest and smoky lees on the nose. Offers flavors of melon and fresh orchard fruits, with a honeyed nuance and a spicy overtone. Refreshingly dry and precise, with firm closing grip and lingering bitterness.
This bubbly brings a rich buttery Chardonnay flavor, smooth texture, lively effervescence and rather full body. It smells like toast and butter, and tastes ripe and appley. Intense buttery flavors stay with you on the aftertaste.
San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 Wines of 2012: "Few domestic sparkling wines are as consistently classy as Roederer's rose. To a Pinot-dominant blend, winemaker Arnaud Weyrich adds a touch of red wine and more importantly, a healthy dose of old reserve wines to add nuance. Precise aromas of mint leaf, sandalwood and huckleberry pie, plus green apple, fresh tangerine and bright mineral tones." Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate is nestled in Mendocino County's cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. As the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only estate-grown grapes. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special oak-aged reserve wines are added to each blend.
