Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs Carneros Sparkling Wine
*One Star, Good Value* This engaging, nicely crafted Blanc de Noirs does an exceptionally nice job at being fruity and fresh and moderately yeasty all at the same time. It smacks mildly of juicy cherries while showing plenty of creamy autolysis and is enlivened by perky acidity and a full, frothy mousse. It stands out from its similarly priced, large-production cousins and is an out-and-out steal when found at a discount as it routinely is.

This isn’t complex, but something about its sweet, sunny fruit and gentle precision feels properly Californian. The texture is soft and polished, lasting on a clean chamomile scent that will keep you coming back for more.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The salmon-colored, fruity non-vintage Blanc de Noirs reveals hints of wild cherries and strawberries in its soft, round, off-dry style. Most consumers will think of it as a dry sparkling wine. Attractive in an easygoing, aperitif style... (RP)
Made from a predominance of Pinot Noir, with 8% Chardonnay, this is a full-bodied, creamy-thick sparkler. Its bouquet mixes shy white peach and strawberry-vanilla, elements that follow on the palate. (VB)
Crisp and vibrant, like summer in a glass, with floral strawberry and citrus aromas and expressive flavors of raspberry, red apple and gingerbread. (TF)
This is a delicious, locally produced Blanc de Noirs and a fantastic value. It's very elegant and balanced with toasty flavors and strawberry fruit. The legendary Spanish sparkling wine producer, Freixenet, established Gloria Ferrer in the Carneros region of California. Besides being one of the most fun places to go in the wine country, Gloria Ferrer is also one of the top value producers when it comes to California sparkling wine.
