1997 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Fresh, complex floral and fruity Cabernet aromas are a bit drier and austere, with hints of fresh leather, mineral, earth and iodine. On the finish the tannins still grip, but the fruit retains its complexity. (Web 2008)
Concentrated, powerful, toasty and warm with good acidity and fruit length.
Rich and layered, this wine is intense and deep yet remains dry with a slightly chewy finish. Quite impressive.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The saturated ruby/plum-colored 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon displays straightforward black currant fruit flavors with licorice, cedar, and earth notes.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Red-ruby. Captivating nose of cassis, black cherry, bitter chocolate, tobacco and smoky, spicy oak. Generous and pliant; fat but with nicely restrained sweetness. Very good intensity and supporting structure. Still rather tight on the finish, which shows a late hint of leather. A rather grown-up style of Napa cabernet
