1997 Flora Springs "Trilogy" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
ith a sweet core of cherry fruit, plenty of tobacco and coffee nuances and other fine touches, this meritage blend hits the right chords and shows just the right weight. Deep, handsome, and fairly seamless; some light oak is applied skillfully, and in general the final product sings a pretty song.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The outstanding 1997 Trilogy Proprietary Red Wine offers a dark ruby/purple color, and super-expressive aromatics consisting of black fruits, licorice, blueberries, and floral scents. With a fine tannic under-pinning, this elegant yet impressively rich, well-endowed, balanced effort is already approachable, and promises to evolve effortlessly for 15-18 years.
Aromatic and leafy. Slightly dry on the palate at the end but overall a sweet, flattering impression. Very easy to drink but a little light on soul.
Earthy and spicy, with hints of tea, leather, wild berry and black cherry fruit that's still sweet, framed by firm but ripe tannins. Finishes with a hint of anise. Balanced, long and complex on the finish. (Web-2008)
