2013 Menade "Creta" Rueda Old Vines

SKU #1335327 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The revolution in high-quality, dry, naked, stainless steel-fermented and aged white wines from Spain continues unabated – for which we are all grateful. A joint venture between Eric Solomon and well-known wine producer Richard Sanz, the 2013 Creta Old Vines (made from Rueda’s indigenous Verdejo grape) was aged in tank with some lees stirring. From a vineyard planted at a high 650- to 750-meter elevation with some vines 100 years of age, this crisp, mineral-laced white offers notes of white citrus and spring flowers. (RP) (6/2014)
