 As mentioned above, the vineyard of Les Perrières is a bit unique in its band of lieux à dits on the hillsides above the village of Fuissé, as it has a due south exposition, unlike most of its neighbors that face east. This has given the 2015 Perrières from Domaine Ferret a tad higher alcohol than the Le Clos for example, as this bottling reached a robust 14.5 percent octane. However, it is impeccably balanced at this alcohol level and seems likely to age longer and with more grace than the other single vineyard bottlings that came in at 14.5 percent in this vintage. The bouquet is really beautiful, wafting from the glass in a complex blend of pear, apple, hints of pastry cream, almond, a complex base of soil, orange blossoms and just a whisper of new wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very elegant in profile for a ripe wine, with a lovely core, excellent backend mineral drive, fine focus and grip and a long, nascently complex finish.  Smoky mineral reduction, citrus and a whisper of wood combine to make for an appealing aromatic profile As is usually the case, the middle weight yet dense flavors are notably finer than those of the Prouges with both better minerality and detail on the lingering if less powerful finish where a hint of grapefruit surfaces.  The 2015 Pouilly Fuisse Tete de Cru Perrieres has a vibrant and generous bouquet with well-integrated oak, touches of almond, nutmeg and minerals all developing in the glass. The palate is clean and precise with apricot and orange peel notes, a keen line of acidity and plenty of concentration without the heaviness on the finish. Excellent.(NM)  (8/2017)

 these vines are situated a bit higher on the hill than Le Clos des Prouges, turning more toward the southeast; the soil here features a top layer of clay over calcaire; aged in 25% new oak in 2015, like Le Clos and Clos des Prouges): Pale yellow. Yellow fruits and spices on the nose. A step up from the Clos des Prouges in thickness of texture but with surprisingly firm acidity to frame and energize the ripe peach flavor. Fatter than the Clos des Prouges but without quite that wine's lift. All of these wines display slightly exotic soft citrus elements but they are distinctly more vibrant than the Ferret wines made here prior (ST)  (10/2016)
