2014 Mas Doix "Salanques" Priorat

SKU #1329593 98 points Decanter

65% Garnacha, 25% Cariñena, 10% Syrah. Tasting notes: Intense, mineral nose with vivacious black cherry, wild thyme and black pepper. Dense, concentrated, lively, fruity palate of black cherries with a perfumed finish. The high alcohol is well integrated. (5/2017)

92 points Wine & Spirits

Mostly old-vine garnacha and cariñena, this blend includes ten percent syrah off younger vines, all grown around Poboleda. It’s a youthful wine, wild in black-cherry and gooseberry flavors, spices and herbs. It feels firm, yet there’s enough room for a lovely acidity to make its way through, refreshing the palate. Tight and powerful right now, it needs beef tamales. (10/2017)

Jancis Robinson

25% old Carignan, 65% Garnacha, 10% Syrah. Bright crimson. Very smart, proper, complex wine. Lovely completeness – great combination of ripeness and definition. A licking-llicorella sensation. Very vibrant. 17/20 Points (JR) (9/2017)
