Barbeito 'Mae Manuela' 40 Year Madeira

SKU #1321560

Vinhos Barbeito was founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos and has since then been a family run business. Manuela's (daughter of Mário) most important task was to continue her father’s work of strengthening relationships with customers and promoting the family wines at prestigious wine fairs around the world. She still continues to do so to this day. Manuela has this to say about the "Mae Manuela": "My mother, Manuela Vasconcelos, started working with my grandfather, Ma´rio Barbeito, in the 70s. In 1989, I joined her and together we started a new chapter at Vinhos Barbeito. Since Malvasia was her favourite wine, I decided to make this "Mae Manuela" blend in her honor. I have carefully chosen wines aged for 40 years and other much older Malvasias, some from my mother's and some from my grandfather's private collection. In 2013, 1050 bottles have been filled, all individually numbered."
