There were only 1,000 cases produced of the 1992 Vintage Port, and they are not likely to languish on retailers' shelves. A saturated, black/purple color is followed by a huge, ripe, pure nose of jammy blackberry and cassis fruit that is vaguely reminiscent of such great 1990 Hermitages as Chapoutier's Le Pavillon, Jaboulet's La Chapelle, or Chave's red label Cuvee Cathelin. Awesome concentration, massive body, an unctuous texture oozing with fruit, glycerin, and extract, and a blockbuster finish all suggest this will be a monumental port. Drink it between 2000-2030. Wine Spectator
The best ever made at this estate and one to watch in the future. Like a lagar full of grapes fermenting; big and powerful tar and raisin character. Full-bodied, sweet, tannic, in an extracted style. (JS)

*Expert's Choice - Highly Recommended* Good deep, opaque colour. Ripe, vibrant, plummy aromas. Very attractive palate - quite rich, dense, perppery fruit and tannins with good purity and definition leading to a bittersweet finish. This has real integrity.
K&L Notes
An independent bottling that avoids the constrictions of the major Port houses' heavier styles. Lighter in character by choice, this port wine is easier to appreciate and has a more forward palate. The Lopes Roseira family began bottling their own port in 1979 even while continuing to sell some of their annual production to Taylor and Sandeman, a practice that continued past the 1992 vintage. One of only five independent single quinta producers in 1992, this wine was bottled at the estate in Portugal.
