Four Roses "K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel OBSV (Aged 10 Years) Cask Strength Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

SKU #1300115

These OBSVs are becoming harder to find every day. The distillery probably makes more of this recipe than any other because it is used in their flagship "Single Barrel" product. Nonetheless we see this recipe very infrequently when tasting at the distillery. So when they roll one out to be bottled at Cask Strength we take note. It's even better when we get in there and taste a real stunner. OBSV is generally very good and it's a profile we love, with tons of fruit and tons of spice, and a rich creamy texture. Fits right in that profile and will likely sell very fast. Only 156 bottles available.

The OBSV is bold and spicy with some subtle fruit and lots toasty oak. It has some feeling of really old-timey bourbon, notes of fresh licorice sticks, dark cherries, Sweet Tarts, roasted coffee and sweet oak. The entry is rich and powerful with some fruit at the front before moving drier and spicier than expected. Big bold and not as easy as the OESV, this definitely dominated by the rye grain. The finish moves toward a drying woodsy note that's long and lingers on the dark earthy tones for ages. This is slightly edgier than the OESV, but packs a punch for those that really like a spicy style.

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
