2013 Sottimano "Fausoni" Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)
A dazzling wine of pure finesse, the 2013 Barbaresco Fausoni is supremely beautiful. For the first time I can remember in fifteen years of visiting this estate, the Fausoni is refined in its tannins. Sweet floral notes meld into a core of translucent fruit in an alluring, captivating Barbaresco that is super-impressive. The level of precision here is just magnificent. This is one of the best young Fausonis - if not the best - I have tasted at Sottimano. (AG)
Pretty aromas of dried strawberry and orange peel. Medium body, pretty integrated tannins and a long finish. Drink or hold.
0 Enticing aromas of rose, iris, berry and leather lift out of the glass. The firm, elegantly structured palate offers black cherry, star anise, clove and white pepper alongside youthfully assertive but refined tannins. (KO)
Floral top notes are grounded by cherry, strawberry and spice in this firm, wiry red. Shows all the components, just needs time to integrate fully. Fine length. (BS)
