2013 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is another succulent, expressive wine that should drink well with minimal cellaring. Mocha, plums, espresso, dark spices and menthol all meld together. This is an unusually open, juicy 2013 with plenty of flesh and near term appeal. (AG)
Tightly wound, with a muscular mix of lead pencil and graphite accenting the core of dense berry, earth, gravel and cedary oak notes. Slowly reveals black licorice, anise and savory herb flavors, but needs cellaring time. Best from 2019 through 2030. (JL)
87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Cassis, cedar, cigar tobacco, dark chocolate. There's a finely brushed tannic feel and plenty of acidity. Intense and concentrated fruit flavour, as you would expect. Worth ageing, but will work as a fruity, rich, young style too. (RH)
A no nonsense Cabernet that shows currant, rose petal and light chocolate character. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
An easygoing, attractive 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville with a deep ruby/purple color, nice cedary wood notes, supple tannins and nice blackcurrant and black cherry fruit. Not terribly complex, but savory and delicious, it is best drunk over the next 10-15 years. (RP)
