A juicy and intense wine with with lots of plum, chocolate and cedar undertones. Full-bodied and velvety. Pretty, gorgeous, racy and just so fine. Love the fruit and texture. Drink now.

Brilliant red. Ripe red and blue fruits, candied flowers, incense and a hint of licorice on the deeply perfumed nose. A spine of juicy acidity provides lift and structure to sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors that open up slowly on the back half. Delivers a suave blend of power and finesse and finishes impressively long, showing resonating red fruit character and sneaky, harmonious tannins. This 279-acre vineyard is a new project for Domaine Drouhin Oregon and these are the inaugural releases. A Chardonnay is also being made and the wines are reflective of the DDO style, with solid backbones and the requisite structure for aging. Unsurprisingly, they show their Burgundian roots, with complex aromatic character that leans toward the savory without coming off too wild. (JR)

Firm in texture, with powdery tannins wrapping around blackberry, raspberry and floral flavors, a meaty note weaving through the juicy finish. Best from 2017 through 2022. (HS, Web-2016)
K&L Notes
Roserock is the newest offering from the Drouhin family, who have built a reputation for producing excellent Pinot Noir from Burgundy and Oregon. The Zéphirine is their barrel-select cuvée from the Roserock vineyard, a well-situated parcel with volcanic soil, cool temperatures, and an ideal range of elevations. According to the winery: "Zéphirine conveys winemaker Véronique Drouhin’s dedication to elegance and finesse, and will age meaningfully for years to come. The name refers to the Zéphirine Drouhin variety of climbing rose, which is known for its fragrance and beauty."
