1990 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estephe (1.5L) (wrinkled label)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Not as concentrated as the 1982, or as most of the vintages made since 2001, the 1990 Cos has reached full maturity. It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. Expansive, round, and sensual, with wonderful purity as well as lushness, this irresistible wine can be enjoyed over the next 6-10 years. (RP)
Refined with dark fruits with delicate spice and leather notes. It's full to medium-bodied, with fine tannins. It is a little funky. I would drink it.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Good full medium ruby. Perfumed aromas of cassis, redcurrant, plum, minerals, coconut and violet. Lush, dense and gentle; rich and chocolatey. With so much baby fat, this wine appears to miss out on ultimate clarity and grip. But finishes tight, with a touch of austerity and nicely restrained sweetness. Still quite young. Drink 2005 through 2020. (ST)
