2015 Silvano Follador Prosecco Brut Nature

SKU #1275040 92 points Vinous

Pale straw. Very pure and precise aromas of white stone fruit complicated by hints of ripe apricot and minerals and perked up by hints of white flowers. Clean fresh and juicy, with almost saline flavors of stone fruit and yellow apple. Long fresh and creamy on the extremely refined finish. Super Prosecco from Follador, whom I consider one of the true masters of the Glera grape variety and wine. 92+ (ID) Silvano Follador is in my opinion the single best producer of Prosecco today...made in a relatively drier style than most of his colleagues, are much sought after by wine lovers and collectors.

K&L Notes

Just a note to clear up some nomenclature issues with this brand. Silvano Follador has added an extra word to their label, "Nature." It means that the finished wine has less than 3 grams per liter of residual sugar, so even though their wines are Brut, Brut can be decidedly higher. Nature is a designation that is more definitive. Most Prosecco is Extra Dry and that is 12-20 grams per liter which could go from dry-ish to outright sweet. Follador is looking to distance themselves from the rest of the pack.

This is the wine in which the delicate varietal aromas of the grape Glera and the mineral notes from the soil are fully expressed. Delicate and fragrant, absolutely dry (zero dosage!) and light, perfect for aperitif.

There's Prosecco and then there's Follador. Silvano Follador is a perfectionist in the best sense and his wine certainly reflects his unflinching commitment to crafting the best possible wine from his Glera vineyards. I share my colleague's sentiments that his Prosecco is simply the finest made and his 2015 is vibrant and bright with surprising complexity and depth. Whether poured as an aperitif or featured at the dinner table, this wonderful sparkler is sure to impress.

I love this wine every year we bring it in from Italy. Crisp, fresh, vibrant. Great textures and completely dry on the finish. The perfect sparkling wine for events, family dinners or just everyday enjoyment. 12% ABV.

It's back!!! This is a perfect wine for this time of year. This Prosecco has been one of K&L’s best sellers since we started bringing it in many years ago. There is melon and green apple, and it is crisp and floral on the palate. A long finish and a subtle mousse make this delicious wine a sure bet for your table. This wine will work well as an alternative to Champagne. These are GREAT holiday bubbles--stock up for Silvano, it always sells out quickly.

The brother-and-sister team of Silvano and Alberta Follador make the best Prosecco I have ever tasted! Biodynamic, their Prosecco is magnificently balanced, delicate and features sophisticated fruit aromatics. It is has hints of yeasty complexity without being ponderous, and this vintage is truly exceptional. The Best Prosecco made, without a doubt!
Drink from 2016 to 2018
