2015 Huët Le Mont Vouvray Moelleux
Offers ginger- and hibiscus-infused creamed yellow apple, quince and pear notes, gilded with a whiff of piecrust. All the elements meld through the long, rippling finish. Drink now through 2035. 300 cases imported. (JM)
Intense honeyed quince, ripe even now. Spicy ripe pear with a hint of mixed peel. Complex and aromatic at the same time. On the palate, so rich it is almost a little tropical – pineapple – but still with the wonderful intense freshness of Chenin in a great vintage; mandarin and dried pear on the finish. (JH)
Maison Huet is a leading force in the Vouvray appellation. Founded in 1928, the estate now covers 35 hectares, which are divided up between three properties: Le Mont, Le Haut-Lieu and Le Clos du Bourg - all of which have been farmed in the biodynamic method since 1990. These wines are stunning and are worth being in your cellar. Legends in the making here! Le Mont is an eight hectare site which runs along the slopes of the Loire Valley. The soil structure is one of pebbles and green-colored clay and silica which produce sleek wines with elegance and a soft femininity.
