 The 2009 Chablis Fourchaume flows across the palate with layers of grapefruit, lime, smoke and ash. The Fourchaume shows quite a bit of energy and vibrancy all the way through to the inviting, harmonious finish. I especially admire the minerality and verve here, especially when compared to the Vieilles Vignes. This is a complete, beautifully balanced wine from Vrignaud. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.  The toast shows through strongly in this wine, giving a burnt edge. At the same time, the delicious fruit with its flavors of peach and green plum, is rich enough to develop well and produce a balanced wine. (RV)  (4/2012)

 Noticeable reduction knocks down the expressiveness of the otherwise ripe nose of pear, apple and apricot cut with hints of sea breeze that leads to nicely rich, juicy and generous flavors that still retain reasonably good cut and punch on the lemony, stony and austere finish.
