2013 Marquis d'Alesme, Margaux
This shows so much depth of fruit with blueberry, cedar and hints of spice. Full bodied and velvety. Long and fresh. Structured. Better in 2018.
The 2013 Marquis d'Alesme - Becker wraps around the palate with dark cherries, plums, violets and new leather. The style is rich, sumptuous and textured, especially within the context of the vintage. (AG)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Yields in 2013 were a minuscule 29 hectoliters per hectare, and the final blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot represents a small percentage of the total crop. There are no vegetal characteristics in this 2013, the tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the wine possesses both texture and length, which is unusual for this vintage. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of sweet berry fruit, incense and charcoal. This medium-bodied offering finishes with conviction and purity. (RP)
