 Morey's 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres is gorgeous. A vibrant, beautifully delineated wine, the 2010 is classic Perrieres from start to finish. Vibrant beams of acidity provide the backbone in a layered, vivid Burgundy. The openness of the 2011 dominates just a touch over more typical Perrieres signatures, but there is nevertheless a lot to like here. Hints of lime, slate and jasmine leave a lasting impression in this striking, drop-dead gorgeous Meursault from Pierre Morey. (AG)  (9/2013)

 The refined nose flirts with mild reduction but not so much that the green apple and broad mix of floral aromas that are abundantly sprinkled with wet stone hints cannot be appreciated. The palate impression is exceptionally tight and focused with a driving minerality to the energetic and almost painfully intense flavors that etch the palate on the beautifully well-balanced and explosively long finish that is almost markedly dry but not aggressively so. This is a classically styled Perrières that should amply reward longer-term cellaring and note that it's going to require it as it's unlikely that this will drink all that well young.  (6/2014)

- The town of Meursault is a prosperous village, with a Gothic town hall and narrow winding streets. It produces a small amount of red wine, but is justly famous for its whites. Although it has no Grand Cru vineyards, its Premiers Crus are justly famous, particularly Charmes, Poruzots, Perrières and Genevrières. A good Meursault has concentration, grip and backbone, in addition to its soft and rich fruit.
