2000 Domaine G. Roumier Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Creamy aromas of pineapple, apple and coconut. Fat and sweet, with fruit-driven flavors of lemon, apple and pineapple nicely firmed by fresh acidity. Dense for the vintage. Finishes with a suggestion of bacon fat. (ST)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Christophe Roumier produces a Corton-Charlemagne from a parcel on the Pernand-Vergelesses side of the Corton hillside. The 2000 displays a wonderfully rich nose of anise, spices, and ripe pears. Medium-bodied, it is plush, intricate, highly expressive, and jam-packed with flavor. Mint, coffee, poached pears, clover, and minerals can be discerned in its softly-textured character. (PR)
Allen Meadows - Burghound
Elegant, full and detailed fruit that offers hints of citrus, apple blossom and plenty of exotic notes such as candied pineapple, pear and mango plus obvious minerality followed by medium weight, very forward, nicely intense flavors of very good length. I especially like the persistence as this stays on the palate for minutes.
