Crown Royal "Cornerstone Limited Edition" Canadian Whiskey (750ml)

SKU #1265730 91 points Whisky Advocate

Inspired by Crown Royal Monarch, Crown Royal is introducing a new line of equally remarkable whiskies called the Noble Collection. This “Cornerstone Blend” begins the series. Rye-grain whisky, fresh-cut lumber, and new oak. Sweet, with a broad spiciness, rich heady nose, floral overtones, and fruity esters. Vague milk chocolate, tropical fruit, and ripe bananas soften the peppery spices. Powerful yet elegant. Complex and tightly synthesized into a single, well balanced whole. (DK) (7/2016)

K&L Notes

Crown Royal's 2016 limited edition release is called the Cornerstone; a marriage that uses three individual component whiskies that form the "cornerstone" of the Crown Royal line-up: a traditional Canadian rye whisky, a Coffey Still rye whisky, and a richer, spicier rye whiskey aged in new American oak like Bourbon. The resulting blend tastes a bit like what one might expect from that trio: a Canadian whisky punctuated by peppery rye spice with a mellow mid-palate and a rich, oaky finish.
