2011 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino
Plenty of strawberry and cherry aromas and flavors, but it's refined and elegant with brightness and finesse. Polished and wonderfully harmonious. Really gorgeous. One of wines of the vintage. Drink or hold.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Fuligni's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is a delightful wine that excels both in terms of its generosity and its approachability. It's easy to drink the whole bottle, glass after glass. The warmer vintage has shaped soft and rich fruit flavors that are enduring and enticing. Spice, leather and tangy tobacco fill in the rear adding dimension and aromatic substance. The mouthfeel shows great textural richness and a sudden spot of bright acidity. This is an honest, upfront and utterly enjoyable Brunello. (ML)
The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is dark, pliant and super-expressive. Dark cherry, plum, blood orange and exotic spices all lift from the glass. Aromatically intriguing and generous, the 2011 will be ready to give all it's got pretty early. Although the 2011 is not especially complex, it is sensual, racing and inviting, all qualities that are accentuated by silky tannins that give the wine its succulent, open-knit personality. The 2011 spent two and half years in a combination of tonneau and cask. (AG)
Delicate scents of pressed blue flower, sunbaked earth, red berry and dark spice emerge in the glass. The elegant, structured palate offers mature wild cherry, crushed blackberry, white pepper and licorice alongside a backbone of fine-grained tannins. A cinnamon note closes the finish. Give this a few more years to unwind then enjoy. (KO)
This aromatic red offers floral, strawberry, cherry and wild herb notes. Elegant and well-balanced, with a lingering finish of tobacco, earth and cherry. Drink now through 2023. (BS)
