Mumford Brewing "Great Uncle George" Russian Imperial Stout Aged on Bourbon Barrels, California (500ml)

SKU #1262461

From the brewery: "Great Uncle George had a great mustache and our first anniversary beer, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout is a fitting tribute to our great uncle. As you pour this beer into your favorite snifter or tulip, you will see a lovely dark black hue and the nose gives off hints of cacao powder, dark cherries, candied fruit, coffee and notes of tobacco. On the palette you will catch a bit of toffee on the front, followed by hints of plum and a dark chocolate finish. If you are patient, this beer can hit the cellar for a year or several and will mellow out and evolve. If not, you are welcome to enjoy now (preferably with a friend or two). Enjoy the fruits of our labor and always enjoy beer!"

The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world. - With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year.
