Medley Bros. 10 Year Private Stock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

SKU #1258559

From father-and-son team Charles and Sam Medley, this limited-release private stock is hand selected by the two Kentucky whiskey masters. Charles, former Master Distiller at the family's closed Owensboro facility, is one of bourbon's most knowledgeable characters. While the family was forced to sell their interests in distillation, their good name and some good will from their suppliers means that they are one of the few non-distiller producers that actually has control over the process by which their bourbon is made. Basically, they rent time on the stills rather than buy stocks made to the distillery owners' specifications. It's a big difference from what generally happens when someone buys and bottles whiskey distilled by someone else. This old label was originally sold by Charles' great-great grandfather, George, who launch the brand in the late 1800s. The hand-selected casks for this small run have a very distinctive flavor profile from the rest of the Medley stocks (Wathen's, Heritage, etc.) The profile feels like old-school bourbon with lots of sweet spice, corny grains and wild fruit preserves. Limited to 1000 bottles released in 20 select markets, so don't expect to see this one for very long.

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
