2012 Amici Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon
A firm and chewy red with stone, pomace, hazelnut and light plum character. Full-bodied yet agile and fresh. Give it a year or two to soften, but I like the muscular and lightly austere profile.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are only 260 cases of the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District. This wine offers up copious aromas of black raspberries, blackcurrants and spring flowers along with that fresh mountain vigor that comes from high elevation Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium to full-bodied with impressive purity, well-integrated oak, and a long, textured, elegant finish. it contradicts consumers who say Napa can’t make finesse wines as this is quintessentially elegant. Enjoy it over the next 12-15 years. (RP)
Sanguine in cranberry and strawberry, this robust wine holds back on the tannin and oak, weaving their stronger tendencies into waves of bittersweet chocolate and black tea. Medium to full-bodied, it's both classic and flush with ripe California fruit.
