2015 Stone Brewing Co. "Locoveza Extra Añejo" Sour Xocoveza Aged in Tequila & Bordeaux Barrels, California (500ml)

SKU #1256126

From the brewery: "At first we were super bummed when a bunch of barrels of barrel-aged Xocoveza inexplicably soured. Then we tasted it. Turns out that the souring microflora transported our bourbon barrel-aged mocha stout to crazy new depths. The sourness marries magnificently with the toffee-like richness and oak vanillin character from the barrels and the chocolate, coffee and spice flavors of the base beer. We invite you to explore the irrationally delicious result of a barrel-aged beer gone loco."

The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
