Antipodes Sparkling Water New Zealand (1L - Glass Bottle)

SKU #1255357

I'm so excited that Antipodes water is now finally available here in the USA. This incredibly pure and cleansing mineral water has gotten me through many a long tasting on my travels in New Zealand. It is hands down the best bottled water I have come across anywhere on earth - Ryan Woodhouse (K&L's NZ Wine Buyer) Antipodes water is sourced from an aquifer more than 1000 feet below the ground in the Bay of Plenty, on the east coast of New Zealand's north island. The groundwater of the aquifer is of very high quality. It has been recognized as the deepest, highest quality groundwater in New Zealand. The water spends 50 years underground and comes to the surface under its own pressure. It is filtered through a substrata of ignimbrite rock before it comes to the surface and is then micro-filtered again in the plant. It is bottled without any chemical interference. The plant operates to the highest international quality standards ISO 9002 and 22000. Antipodes was the first premium water company to become certified Carbon Neutral. The plant is solar powered, the glass is recycled and the company has replanted expansive native trees at the bottling site. Carbonation is added using a specific full saturation process to give a very fine and persistent fizz.

This is good stuff...crisp, great subtle and small bubbles, that finishes with a pure and precise finish. I'll have another round, please!

This is a fine vintage of Antipodes, the king of sparkling waters and the sparkling water of kings! In all seriousness, while we have had fun at New Zealand wine (and water) buyer Ryan Woodhouse's expense, I have to admit that this is great stuff. Pure, balanced, soft carbonation and well balanced water - I can't stop drinking the stuff. Added bonus: Antipodes is a certified carbon neutral business.

We are often asked here at K&L if we have any bottled water to sell and the answer is almost always a sad and thirsty no. Today that is not the case! After reading Ryan Woodhouse's review which states Antipodes water "is hands down the best bottled water I have come across anywhere on earth" I certainly had to try it. I love sparkling water so naturally I tried the bubbles first. It is indeed excellent. It has a bright, clean, and refreshing bead with no offensive flavorings. Just beautifully clean, clear water. I have a long way to travel before I second the claim of the very best in the world, but as of yet, I have nothing to offer to the contrary.

New Zealand

- New Zealand is an extremely diverse wine-growing nation. The long history of producing wine started in the 1830s with wineries such as Mission Estate (1850) and Te Mata Estate (1896) still producing wine today. The two islands hold a multitude of different growing climates ranging from warmer areas such as Hawke’s Bay to very cool regions such as Waitaki, and Awatere. Most regions are defined as Maritime with the exception being Central Otago that has a moderate Continental climate with the high elevation creating dramatic diurnal swings in temperature. The plethora of grapes grown in New Zealand reflects this diverse microclimate make up. Everything has a place here, Bordeaux varietals and Syrah in Hawke’s Bay, Chardonnay and Pinot in Nelson, Pinot Noir and Riesling in Central Otago , aromatic whites in Waipara and pretty much everything you can imagine in Marlborough. New Zealand is also one of the “greenest” wine producing nations on earth (94% of wine certified sustainable in 2013) with a strong focus on organic and Biodynamic farming.
