Greenbar Distillery "Slow Hand - Six Wood" Cask Strength Whiskey (375ml)

SKU #1251092

LA's first whiskey distilled by the ever innovative and thoughtfull GreenBar distillery located in Downtown Los Angeles. While they are no longer LA's only distillery they are definitely the leaders in sustainably produced organic spirits and have crafted this whiskey with an eye to the mission of creating the most sustainable and environmentally friendly spirits in the world. It all starts with 100% organic Malted Barley. This is fermented and distilled on their high tech column still and then aged in massive 1000 gallon oak tank. The whiskey is then manipulated with 6 different wood types to create various flavor profiles, not wholly different from what John Glasser was doing with the original Spice Tree. At cask strength this whiskey really shows it's teeth. It's something totally different from what the rest of the craft whiskey scene is offering and reminds me of something in between a young craft malt whiskey and the very best spiced rums. It's totally wild and unique, just like the place where it's made! Finally we can support our local malt whiskey distillery, so get to it!

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world. - With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year.
