 The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chenevottes has a very well-defined bouquet, with hints of apricot blossom and limestone coming through with aeration. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp lime and green apples notes, the acidity sharp, but it will decrease by the time of bottling. Good tension here and very good persistency in the mouth, although it does not quite possess that "X-factor" we all seek from Pierre Yves's wines. (NM)  (12/2014)

 Pale, green-tinged yellow. Reticent, high-pitched aromas of lemon, lime and white flowers. In a distinctly juicy, delicate, youthfully tight style, showing very good cut to its citrus peel and noble herb flavors. Burgundy

- The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Côte d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Côte de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Côte de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Côte d'Or. Chassagne Montrachet

- A long, wandering village in the Côte de Beaune. Fortunately, what the workaday village lacks in charm, the wines more than make up for. Most famous for its white wines, which are lovely and delicate, Chassagne-Montrachet actually produces more red than white wine. It is one of the few places in the Côte D'Or where both red and white wines are produced from Premier Cru vineyards. The Grands Crus are Montrachet, Bâtard Montrachet (both shared with the neighboring village of Puligny) and Criots Bâtard Montrachet.
