2012 Torrin "Law Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah-Grenache

SKU #1243545 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Coming from the Law Family's estate vineyard located high up off of Peachy Canyon road, the 2012 Law Vineyard is 64% Syrah and 36% Grenache that was raised in a combination of new and neutral barrels. It offers tons of black raspberry, violets, peppery and chalky minerality to go with a beautiful, elegant and layered, yet concentrated and full-bodied feel on the palate. While it comes from a hot terroir, it has plenty of nuance and is far from a fruit bomb. There's enough fine tannin to keep it drinking nicely through 2025. (JD) (8/2015)

94 points Vinous

Bright purple. Intense perfume of dark fruit preserves, incense and potpourri, plus a smoky mineral overtone. Stains the palate with ripe blueberry and blackberry flavors that become more energetic and spicy with aeration. Quite suave given its depth and power, this blend finishes with superb focus and smooth, slow-building tannins. (JR) (9/2015)

Wine Spectator

A plush, almost extravagant blend, with plenty of toasty oak. Offers coffee and black raspberry aromas and ripe, jammy flavors that are fun to drink. Syrah and Grenache. Drink now through 2022. (TF, Web Only-2016)

Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year. Paso Robles

- Located about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, this inland AVA enjoys a sunny and hot growing period while its seaside neighbors hang in the fog. Zinfandel is the traditional red grape of choice, though cabernet, chardonnay, and Rhône varietals are gaining favor. Most are made in a fruit-forward, early drinking style.
