2013 Sigalas-Rabaud, Sauternes
Barrel Sample. A rich, complete wine, this has beautiful acidity as well as the most intense botrytis character. It’s a wine with long-term aging potential, ripe and already full in the mouth.

The Sigalas Rabaud has an intriguing bouquet of candied orange peel, almond and popcorn scents that are already alluring. Give it a few more minutes in the glass, and these are overtaken by mineral scents. The palate is supremely well-balanced with good depth. The acidity is well-judged and, returning after ten minutes, one finds greater tension and complexity on the finish. Perhaps keeping a few tricks up its sleeve, this is one to watch out for after bottling. (NM)

Bright, pale yellow-gold. Reticent but extremely pure, floral aromas of fresh tropical fruit salad, sweet spices and vanilla, lifted by mineral and lemony botrytis nuances. Wonderfully honeyed, pristine tropical and fresh citrus fruit flavors are complemented by clove and nutmeg. Harmonious acidity lifts and extends the wine's fruit flavors at the back. The 2013 vintage really plays to this estate's strengths, as Sigalas Rabaud is always a refined, graceful Sauternes. Superb potential here. (ID)
The 2013 Sigalas Rabaud is soft and understated to the core. Orange jam, candied apricots, dried flowers, sage and mint all meld together in an expressive, creamy Sauternes long on class and elegance. There is a lot to like here. (AG)
Very bright and engaging, with a range of green almond, glazed pear, creamed yellow apple and apricot notes all stretching out nicely already. Flecks of ginger, toasted peach and guava fill in the finish. (Web-2014)
A lovely density and texture to this with sliced-pineapple and light honey character. Medium to full body, medium sweet and a fresh finish. Might be outstanding in the end.
