The Rum Society #62 Pot Still Blended (Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica) Rum (750ml)
The Rum Society is one of the most ambitious new products on the market today. The result of years of development and a desire to offer authentic pot stilled rums in their true form, without the additional of caramel coloring, sugar syrups or other adulterants. The idea is to offer true pot stilled rums from authentic historical distilleries which are not on the market today. The products are much closer to what our fledgling nation would have been consuming for a significant portion of its history, but after prohibition the full flavored nature of pot still rum fell out of favor. Now you can experience true pot still rum in its unadulterated form. The #62 is a blend of three styles of pot still rum from three different Islands all of which were once part of the British Empire. The smokiness of the funky Jamaican rum is balanced by the robust texture Guyana's wooden pot still. To add balance the intensity of the others, a rare Bajan pot distillate brings delicate fruit and complex sweet cane aromas to the mix. Here we're able to enhance some classic rum drinks like the Daiquiri, but also makes for a great substitution in other standards. Think Rum Juleps or Mules! Wouldn't hurt to through this in your punch bowl either.
