2014 Zuani "Vigne" Collio Bianco

SKU #1221484 90 points Wine Enthusiast

Compelling scents of white spring flower, stone fruit and a whiff of nut weave throughout this blend of Friulano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. The vibrant palate delivers yellow apple, orange zest, almond and mineral alongside tangy acidity. (KO) (4/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2014 Collio Bianco Vigne is a blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio aged in stainless steel. The intensity is slightly dialed down in this vintage, but the wine successfully delivers a steady stream of stone fruit, honey and floral aromas. The finish shows a piquant touch of acidity that you feel at the tip of your tongue. It is streamlined and tight overall. (ML) (5/2016)

Wine Spectator

A well-knit white, fresh and lively, offering flavors of cantaloupe, stone, fresh ginger and kiwifruit in a light-bodied, lithe frame. Friulano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. Drink now through 2018. (AN) (4/2016)

K&L Notes

The "Zuani" blends Friulano, the Collio's indigenous varietal, with Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio from marl and sandstone soils. Fermented in new French oak barrels with daily (then weekly) batonnage. This is a spicy, citrusy wine with layers of fruit and a creamy minerality.
